TV nostalgia

I was pretty amused to come across the "Goodnight Kiwi" clip they used to play on TV at the end of programming on Youtube.

Something else I'd love to see again was an ad for the different kinds of dairy products your milkman could deliver, featuring cartoon (glass) milk bottles rapping about the colours of their foil caps.

Forums: The Bar,

seen the old ice cream wrappers clip?

and since Pies seem to be a popular topic of discussion around here...

Georgie Pie. "Because you want them to know you care."

I was never impressed by Georgie Pie, I went their once and the pie had huge chunks of fat in it!

I don't remember that ad at all, either, but it is tragic!

Holy moly... that I've been craving that Goodnight Kiwi clip for so long now. All that remains is for someone to go to the NZ Film Archive, get out the full length, old-school TVNZ ad with the extended national anthem sung by a girl and a Frankie Stevens-esque punisher, and then put it online for me.

Thanks.

Also, I'm a bit removed from everything back home - have there been any EML dvd's released yet?

Sadly no!

EML had that version of the national anthem on it once, didn't it? Always loved it, you knew you were up early if you saw it ...

Actually, I saw it most when I was up early to watch a cricket match on One, I recall now! I'm sure I still know my Maori words from it ...

Kia tau to ... ATAWHAI!

JIMI!!! Here it goes ... best version of the national anthem ever, for sure!!!

GOLD.

if anyone can find them. i'd love to rewathch any of those ads designed to get nzers to spy on their neighbors (i vaguely recall they atarted in the 1980s cos i seem to remember them interrupting afternoon children's tv. first generation ads would be best,

Why did they want people to spy on their neighbours?
