FRI 1st SEPTEMBER

7.30pm Breaks Co-Op Live at Leigh Sawmill
Last summer Breaks Co-Op's Hamish Clarke and singer Andy Lovegrove played around the country in support of their second album 'The Sound Inside', enlisting the help of some of Aotearoa's finest musicians including players from Goodshirt, TrinityRoots and the SJD Band. National Radio captured Breaks Co-op's laid-back sound live at one of the friendliest venues in the country - Leigh Sawmill - before they set off to tour Europe.

11.06pm Gore Gold Guitar Festival. 2006 Country Music Awards
The NZ Gold Guitar Awards in Gore are the largest and most prestigious Country Music event in New Zealand.

Tonight's programme features the individual genre section senior finalists and the overall winner of the prestigious Gold Guitar Award. . This is the anchor night of the Festival and is held in the 1500 seater Town and Country Club Stadium.

The 2006 winners "North V South" stirred some controversy as not only did a three piece vocal group take out the award, they were from Auckland and only got together as a group one week before the Festival.

SAT 2nd SEPTEMBER

2.06pm - 5pm Music 101
Sarah McMullan hosts 3 hours of brilliant music from Aotearoa and all over the world as well as interviews, reviews, live performances and documentaries. Today: It was a big week for NZ releases, so we have Shapeshifter's master of ceremony P-Diggs and Devon speaking about 'Soulstice' and The Mint Chicks boys talking about the more melodic approach to their new album 'Crazy? Yes! Dumb? No!'

Nick Bollinger reviews Bob Dylan's Modern Times and a posthumous release from Northern Mali's 'Bluesman of Africa' Ali Farka Toure;

The Auckland Group recently conducted a survey 'Music and Youth Culture' to give insights into the relationship between New Zealand youth and music. 374 young music consumers were questioned about their downloading activities, the kinds of technology they used to play their music, their opinion of the Top 20 charts and the issue of music censorship - Trevor Reekie looks into who's doing what, why and where and what it all means;

And Part two of the Malcolm McLaren-presented The Real Story of Punk Rock, a BBC series digging through punk's roots to mark its 30th birthday.

3.30pm Greg Johnston Live at The Carlton Ballroom
A master of soulful tunes, raconteur, Greg Johnson recently returned home to beguile and seduce with his latest work.

Greg plays a selection of favourites in addition to songs from the new album 'Anyone Can Say Goodbye'.

With six albums and numerous Tui awards under his belt, this winner of the coveted Silver Scroll songwriter's award has repeatedly embedded his songs into the hearts of New Zealanders.

11.06pm The Music Mix
Kirsten Johnstone presents a contemporary music magazine with interviews and music.

This week: Devon and P-Diggs of Shapeshifter talk about recording in the serene surrounds of Kaikoura and their upcoming orchestral manoeuvres;

Australian indie-pop band 'Youth Group' tell us that just because their single is on the O.C doesn't mean they're sell-outs;

We've got the boys from the Mint Chicks, speaking about their sophomore album- Crazy! Yes! Dumb! No!, and bringing down the house- literally;

And Mobb Deep show up for an interview in all their blinged out glory and tell their side of the story about the no-show in Wellington a couple of weeks back.
