Hey all, im helping to organise some parts of a tour in september by two well-known bands (an australian and an american band), and while I can supply a backline in Auckland for them, I'm not able to take all the equipment down for the Wellington show.
Can anyone recommend where's good to hire backline in Wellington (Blink, this might be a good addition to the next Local Knowledge) and if there isnt one, suggest some bands down there who might be willing to hire their gear out?

i just hired a peavey head off him, actually mainly as a backup amp as there would be approx 60 sets played through the main bass amp on the tour and i wanted to have a backup incase ya know..
i assume he has has others as well as he has quite a stash of gear. Apparently Jules is also looking to hire his bass rig out now as well. Noizy: If you want me to put something bout your amp in the next issue of local knowledge - flick me an email.

yeah, jules is in a similar situation to me, although still in the 'paying off', as opposed to 'pure profit' part of the gear-owning curve. We were thinking of starting up a bass hire company as a wee sideline. ahhh, plans...

Yep, i have a bass rig available to hire. Mesa Boogie 400+ valve head and Ampeg 8x10 cabinet. Some other bits and pieces too.
