Unfortunately the live venue scene in Hams has got progressively worse, there's jack shit all venues for heavyish or loud bands to play, you can hire the Diggers Back Bar out but that's nothing great especially now that they inforce noise restrictions. Sorry to say it but Hamiltons live scene sux!
I won't argue with you that the venue situation in hamilton has goen to the dogs... but Ward Lane is still trucking and The castle is a great option, Upsett records goes off for the louder shows as well. Quieter gigs are geat in Sohl Bar...but I'd say for heavy bands that Ward lane is the main option.
