ever looked at the CD stand and think, i can't believe someone would sell this?! here are some CDs i saw today that made me think, the owner must have really been desperate for cash, and man if i didn't already have these CDs i'd so buy them in fact i was tempted to even though i already owned them!

well i realise i was being judgmental when i referred to the owners of those CDs, the point of this post was to ask if people had ever seen CDs in Cash Converters that they would never sell themselves, rather than question the integrity of the people who sold them

They do have some good deals for CDs in that place (5 for 20 bucks or something) ... the only problem is that they only sell CDs that people have no memory of buying, can't wait to get rid of, and are almost too embarressed to even sell ...

The only time I saw some good CDs in a Cash Converters I realised they'd been stolen from a friend of mine. Pity the thieves didn't try to flog my friend's bass guitar at the same shop.

This reminds me of my experiment in the Real Groovy bargain bins.
A couple of years ago I was looking around in Real Groovy's bargain basement, back when they had all their second-hand CDs down there. I decided to have a look for NZ CDs that had, for whatever reason, ended up being cashed in.
The top 10 CDs were:
1 Stella - Magic Line
2 Mareko - White Sunday
3 Tadpole - Buddhafinger
4 Debbie Harwood - Soothe Me
5 Amber Claire - Love and Such
6 Alphrisk - The Best Kept Secret
7 Ben Lummis - One Road
8 Fur Patrol - Pet
9 Ben King
10 Misfits of Science - MOS Presents

Oi! If she chose to, Bic Runga could have more rock'n roll in her little finger than pretty much everyone else on the board put together.
