Kiwi rock veterans go on tour, NZ herald.co.nz ...

Wonder if it's a success whether they'd think of doing a couple of gigs in London ?? maybe costs and logistics could be too much, but hey just maybe it'll worth their while to look into it. See how much interest there maybe, I'd go so there's one ticket sold ..

Forums: NZ Music,

who is going on tour?? i'm sure they're no stranger to london!! make some connections & hook it up!! Listen to Down To Me by The Bats : http://www.napster.com/player/tracks/13800551

The rock veterans in question are Johnny Devlin and The Tornadoes, Ray Columbus, Sharon O'Neill, Shane, Larry Morris and Tom Sharplin.

It'll be great - just like a Telethon in the '80s. You can challenge all licenced motor vehicle dealerships in West Auckland to equal or better your donation.

I'd be keen to go, it could be very interesting. I'm far too young to have heard of these people, but it'd be neat to see what exactly NZ was playing back in the day. I bet you that they will be catering more to their original target audience, who, decades on will have much more disposable income; ticket prices are therefore going to be high. Far too high for a poor student like me. So, unless I can convince someone to let me review one of the concerts for them, or unless there are good student prices, I will not attend.

I don't know how old you are, but I'm sure maybe, just maybe you've heard some of their stuff, parents CD's or records .. no maybe not records .. but possibly re-issue CD's, radio.. mind you depending on your age maybe again not, it'll be an old timers station ;-). but I'm sure you'll know some of the stuff these guys play. If you can get along I'm sure you'll enjoy it, there's a lot of years experience going on up on that stage. I do hope they make it to the UK, there's alot of ex-pats over here who'll come along for a show like that I'm sure. As for the " make connections and hook it up " comment, it's not something I can do, but if enough people go to the NZ shows and they're successfull maybe they'll come up with doing a couple of London gigs on their own and all pile over.

Jonny Devlin rocks!

Ahh... None of them have had a hit in over 20 years and Joe public thinks of all as HASBEENS - WTFuck, they'll be interesting to watch - Tom Sharplin's Russell Crowe's best mate - and I've read about them in Stranded in Paradise (thinks there could be a riot of 50 somethings trying to relive their youth)...
