Slim's Real World Video online now

Went down to indigo to catch Slim, Po-ha and Mesculine. First off, Mesculine, i get a major sense of deja-vu watching mesculine (maybe because i used to be in it), but these guys have some good rock ditties, reminding me of bands from rocks heyday like led zep or the doors, but with a kiwi-90s-rock twinge. A good performance, and some real tasty tunes, but i get the feeling the vocals need a bit of work.

Next up, Po-ha, my fav welly band by a long shot. Po-ha took stage and rocked out a stellar set that unique blend of rock meets layers of lush guitar noise (think bailer space meets MBV). By far the best sounding i've heard them at Indigo (full cred to the sound engineer). They saved their best till last, with "best day" and "waiting for" easily on-par, if not better than anything shihad has ever done. If you havent heard them, i recomend seeing them live as this is where they shine, but fail that check out www.po-ha.com and download "fall away" and "Several Steps". Josh Po-Ha announced they are taking a break from gigging till march to work on their new recordings (watch out for a limited ed. 7 inch), what am i going to do fill the huge rock void left in the absence of these guys??????

Unfortunately i couldnt stay to catch all of slims set, but i absorbed about 2/3 of their set. These guys have a huge stage presence and nail their songs with supreme confidence. Their solid, and faultless performace shows why these guys are making waves! These guys are the definition of good, honest, fun rock!

Nice, very Nice. I stay tucked away in the corner and watched with anticipation as Mescalin loosened up the crowd. Wicked. I enjoyed my alcohol even more as the middle stage band Po-ha relentlessly shoveled me with more fire I could fuel, and soaring guitars that just wouldn;t say no. Slim completed my evening and I'm still dealing with my swollen ear drums, not to say the least a slight hang over! EXTREME MUSIC!!!!!
