I need to mention my ARSE

there only be 11 days till kick-off.
with Heather's permission we can skip Sat night and get to the real deal.

Saxso, surely this game has the all the makings of a classic.
Anticapation is not the word at this end, hows the Catalan Nation?
Johan making himself available for interviews?

I'm so excited, and I just can't hide it.

Forums: The Bar,

WHO HERE HAS SKY? IN AUCKS? UP FOR VISITORS 2AM SUNDAY MORNING???
I WILL BRING SNACKS

fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck...

man, that second Gerrard goal was awesome.

scant consolation I know, but it was a good game.
probably best final since the Arse knocked over the Scum in '79.

Now , you all feel free to speculate on Thursday morning, not many sleeps now.

no consolation necessary, I'm equal measures chagrined & stoked. :)

Given England's striking problems, perhaps give Gerrard a forward roving midfield role so he can bash in goals like he did on Saturday? Mind you, Lampard has been doing that for Chelski all season too, I think between them they've scored 43 goals in the season (which is probably more than the four strikers Sven has selected combined).

I can't believe Sven left Darren Bent out of the side.

yeah, take a guy with a broken foot, another whose broken foot has just mended (1 and 1/2 games in 14weeks) and another guy who hasn't played at all, age17.
I'm sure Peter Crouch is happy about all of this but no English supporters should be.

Brazil's squad is up on soccer.net

Forward line:
Kaka, Junhino, Fred, Adriano, Ronaldo, Robinho, Ronaldhino.

its not fair really, and the mighty All Whites face these guys in Brazil's last warm up game...

// the mighty All Whites face these guys in Brazil's last warm up game...

bah! and us without our only defender of any repute at all. man, the way those Chileans were carving us up at the back, one can only hope that the Brazilians decide to use the game as a passing practice drill as opposed to a shooting one.

optimistic scoreline prediction: 4-0

Bang on James.

do you have time to be resident tipster?

heh. wasn't fancying my chances with five minutes to go...

would have been a different story, I reckon, with Nelsen in there, and Danny Hay staying on for the whole game. Old and Bunce made some real clanger errors in defence. Might have held them to 2-0?

and the Brazilians themselves missed, what, 6 or 7 clear chances?

I was really impressed with the all whites in the first half. I think Moss did a fine job in spite of conceeding 4 to them.

The Linesman had a good game, Adriano was clean through 4 times in the second half and he got pinged incorrectly on all them.

Ronaldo looks out of shape and out of sorts.
Bertos, Moss and Mulligan all had good games.
as for Nelson and Elliot being available and Hay being fit, well, um, I think Brazil did walk the game, ie: we are not here to get injured...

still its all good and something for all involved to cherish.

//Ronaldo looks out of shape and out of sorts.

yeah i have to admit i agree. I think people shouldn't hassle him since he's still a better football player than all the critics even when he's carrying a bit extra...

but this morning when i was watching the game, and they showed the replay after his goal, and there was a shot of him in profile... he didn't exactly look like a top class sportsman. he's got a bit of a pie-belly, anyway, i don't doubt he'll be match fit very soon, as he'll be training and playing a lot over the next couple of months

The best thing that could have happened to the CL final is the Arse capturing fourth spot in the Premiership (or is that Spurs eating some dodgy English grub the morning of the last match of season?)
Now they can play knowing that they aren't playing for a spot in the CL for next year, and are likely to be a bit more relaxed about it, than if they knew they had to win it to progress to next years comp.
Henry vs Ronaldihno, lets see which one will be more influential. Henry can get lost in a game sometimes, esp if the other guys around him are playing badly. He needs to be involved and demand the ball more. I will be watching at a pub down from work (and this time I won't leave at halftime like I did last year when the 'Pool were down 3-0.)

Hence 4th spot shouldn't get you into CL
I'm with Platini, gut the comp, 256 teams H&A knockout.
Fuck the G14, lets go back in time.
allowing top heavy representation from 5 countries de-stabilises "little leauges".
Arsenal will make a fortune from CL this year, despite a shabby performance away from home in the EPL. not convinced this is healthy, League Cup anyone?

still Henry vs Bucktooth has got me humming and I do think these two sides play the best game in all of Europe.

Omen bet;
Gio van B and Fabregas to score.

Pretty good on the 1/4 finalists, but, again. only 1 from 4 for the semis, and neither finalist.

I think I'll rest on my 4-0 Brazil v. NZ pick a little while longer...

Fooken hell Chris is on it.
Good effort Man.

The Swedes is good bet, win group and make 1/8's
Czechs to win their group and go to semi's.
Holland and Italy to crash, throw Ghana and Serbia into 1/16's
Ukraine to head Spain, then cop Togo.
Iran to make 1/16's with Australia, then walloped by Argentina

unfortunatly for me the Best team won.

can't really moan (and for sure I'd love too), but yeah that was a send-off and the goal for Guily should of stood.
No disgrace, I guess, but I'm sort of peeved it wasn't 11vs11...

Anyway now its the World Cup!
and All Whites vs Brazil for entree!

Ryan Nelsen in a potential move to the Arse?
