Hello, i like the smiths

hello, i posted here a couple of times once, but i forgot my username and pass word so i had to re register, i posted something once news readers and ghost hunt and rdu..

anyway, does anyone else here love the band the band the smiths?
They are my favourite band and i feel quite obsessional about them and any music now is measured against the greatness of the smiths as a benchmark.

I also really like some of Morrisseys work- although i dont think much of his latest stuff. But christchurch music stores have a really poor selection of morrissey albums, its dire. I can't find any of them. And the smiths i had to order in when i bought them too.

Does anyone else like them here? I know this is not nz music stuff but i want to flush out the smiths fans of this site.

Boot the grime of this world in the crotch, dear

My favourite one of all:
"She said 'I know you and you cannot sing'; I said 'That's nothing. You should hear me play piano'".

I thought if you had an acoustic guitar...

I got to touch Johnny Marr's left foot (Blue Nike's) at the Chch town Hall c.1990.
Wah fuelled Strat Weilding Rock God Moniter Leaning Frenzy.

//Chch town Hall c.1990

That was the "the the" concert, yeah?

It was 1989 (Morrissey at the St James Wellington in 1991 was great too, all the daffodils flying at the stage and the 'made to rip' chiffon shirts)

Um...

So you go and you stand on your own, and you leave on your own,
And you go home and you cry and you want to die.

yeah The The
1989 time flies

didn't go home alone, went to Soho on Lichfield St, what a joint that place was.
You gig there Dave?

Your the bees kness, but then so am I...

//You gig there Dave?

Yeah, I think I did. Was that the place next door to the Venus Lounge cafe?
There were so many venues on that street around that time I get confused.
Quadrophenia, His Lordships,Interzone, Tony Greers flat, metropolis,ministry, the green room, the hoffbrauhaus, soho...

Weird timing, I've had 'Girl Afraid' stuck in my head for a couple of days.

Are you allowed to be luke warm about the Smiths? I'm not the biggest fan, but they're pretty great.

Oh, I didn't realise that you wrote poetry
I didn't realise you wrote such bloody awful poetry
