Has there ever been a NZ double-album?

I was just wondering this, does anyone know if any NZ band or artist has ever released a double-album? I can't think of anyone but that doesn't mean it hasn't happened.

Forums: NZ Music,

tokey tones did a double-ep, & then sold them separately

thats very use your illusionsy. did half of each suck?

'Pacifier' did a double live album, but that's not really an 'album' album as such.

would you count greatest hits albums??
Then Head Like A Hole & SuperGroove have, then probally I few other bands have too

ive got records of 3 double albums - all from recent experimental/underground outfits:
teen x-rays - joys of pig hunting
cja - the tank
witcyst - they rest not

of course its a bit harder to track these days, as a double album is essential an album over 45minutes (with the difference between CDs and records and all). i wouldn't be suprised if there wasn't a double album from the likes of 70s prog or psych bands like ticket, ragnorak etc...

Dead C - Harsh 70's Reality 2xLP, Siltbreeze 1992

one I can think of

Clarence the cross eyed lion .. :-)))

the Axemen- 3 Versions, Virgins Visions

I did know about the Pacifier live album but I was thinking of albums proper, so no, not including greatest hits and other sorts of compilations.

Karen Hunter - Inside Outside

would you count a compilation? It's Bigger Than Both Of Us

there's been TONS of double compilations, including artist rarities / early comps

I wouldn't count compilations or live albums as a double album has traditionally been a single body of work that is on too grand a scale to fit on a single LP.

This makes it a very easy case to dismiss compilations as they are hardly a single body of work, but rather a selection of tracks put together by whoever had the idea, or the money, to do it.

Live albums don't count either as they function more as a greatest hits package than anything else - which is only a step away from a compilation.

I also find it hard to include (some) CDs that run over the old 43 minute time limit of vinyl as a lot seem to be a case of "let's throw those spare tracks on as well cos we've still got 37 minutes of blank disc left" rather than "all these songs I've written that seem connected won't edit down to 43mins"

Dragstrip, you put it perfectly. That's exactly what I meant.
