Hello, We are filling up May (NZ ...
Hello,
We are filling up May (NZ Music Month) as early as possible so that we can do as much pre-advertising with help from the New Zealand Music Industry Commission, Radio Active, The Package etc etc etc.
Here are a few different options to consider if you were keen to play at Bodega!
Tuesday - Room 101: Beats and Bubbles - Good audience & beer but no cash
Room 101: Bands play on Tuesday (for no charge). Beats and Bubbles upstairs with the same drink specials downstairs. A guaranteed audience and new people - students that you mightn't normally be exposed to.
Wednesday - Mainstage: MySpace Wednesday - Potentially good audience & beer but no cash
Normally we do shows without a cover charge on Wednesday. If you design a poster we will distribute it and organise your sound so that you have no expenses. Advantages of playing on Wednesday are lack of competition and not competing with house parties!
Wednesday - Room 101: Accoustic (or not!!!) - Potentially good audience & beer but no cash
Room 101: Artists like to perform on Wednesday accoustically. Also, known singer songwriters and folk artists have taken advantage of Wednesday nights. People like to order dinner at 8pm and watch a performance at 9pm.
Thursday, Friday, Saturday - Mainstage (Quieter bands work best for us after work days) - Audience is up to you, no beer but cash if you do well. A normal gig with posters, media, invite friends, organise a few other bands - take the door, pay your sound guy and split the profits!
Thursday, Friday, Saturday - Room 101 - Audience is up to you, no beer but cash if you do well
A normal gig. Posters, media, invite friends, organise a few other bands - take the door, (sound guy not normally required) and split the profits!
Sunday - Mainstage - World Music - Potentially good audience, drink discounts but no cash
No expenses. Great networking. Mostly accoustic music. Solos, Duests, Accordians, World Music, Folk Music. Just turn up and play.
The timetable we are working with so far! (perhaps you would slot in perfectly with a band already booked in!?)
