When you're out and about with your girlfriend, do you ever turn to her and say "hey baby, that guy over there is taller than me, and while his hair isn't as good, I bet his penis is better, maybe you should be with him!" ?
Well, theres outofkilter.net which is a fairly chch based board but quite groovy. Theres punkas.com but really its all about angry punk kids swearing at each other and being "xhardxcorex" and lots of "OMG Lol I'm So DrUnK RiT NW SO CoOl YAy 4 mE!" "LLo UR GaYE!". This board has managed to avoid such malarky so I tend to sift through this if I need some info. Plus, theres an intellectual snobbery that I like. Its just so more civillised and more informative. So basically, don't bother with the other ones, you'd just get bored and/or insulted by 13yrold punk scensters
outofkilter is sometimes useful in terms of the christchurch all ages scene, but I don't know that Jesus Crux would get intelligent or stimuating debate kind of topics working there.
I mean, I do enjoy that board, but its fairly dominated by people who all seem to go to the same high schools.
There are other sites with a different focus, such as Biggie (seems as busy as here), Hiphop NZ and NZ Metal... obviously your interest in them depends on what kind of music you like.
Lots of music forums out there when you count specific band forums and things. I occasionally look in on www.nzguitars.com though most the talk there is generally more about gear over specific bands and I'm trying not to spend money at the moment. www.therockfactory.net is growing fairly big now, quite a bit goes on there.
Intergalactic records forum can make for interesting reading sometimes though most the people on it don't listen to much outside of metal and wouldn't be the type of folk you'd want to preach to mr Crux.
All the above of course....
