/Atheism. False Religion Yes, atheism can be considered a religion, since the believe that there is no God is a religious view that actually takes greater faith than the belief that God does exist. Atheism is also listed in the Glossary. Read Randy Bailey's story of abandoning atheism to accept Jesus Christ as his saviour. He writes: 'The greatest truth that I have learned since I have "come home" again, is that all of the arguments and debates in defense of an atheistic worldview exist for one sole purpose: justification of sin.'

On the home page they freely admit they're approaching it from a christian angle - aiming at christians, with the hope that the info might be useful for others. Their "danger" rating is defined by the likelihood that a practice will be bad for a person's spiritual wellbeing as much as causing physical or emotional harm.
Granted, even from within a christian perspective, a lot of it's awfully subjective; a few sly comments that betray a bit of cultural prejudice.
Yeah, but the link was pitched as 'pretty comprehensive coverage'! Actually, I guess that's true in some ways, there's far more content in there than I was expecting. Just a little blindsided by the gigantic bias of those definitions ;-)
I'm down with the atheism argument. What I hate most are the preachy kind of atheists. At least mormons and JW's are polite enough to knock on your door (plus they seem to comprehend "fuck off"). Whereas evangelical atheists tend to take uninterested people telling them to fuck off as encouragement...
the law in question is the one where all students who graduated whilst he was the Minister of Education are able to absolve themselves of Guilt by voting him in again, again, again and yet still keep Left Cred.

Yep, that's pretty much true of a workmate of mine. I'd certainly agree that evangelical atheists probably work as hard or harder at converting the great unwashed as evangelical christians do.
I don't know about the sentence '...all of the arguments and debates in defense of an atheistic worldview exist for one sole purpose: justification of sin.' I mean that's such a Christian thing to say- the concept of 'sin' itself should really be a whole different argument. There are some way juicier and more appropriate God/No-God ethical debates than to be had than this.
Christianity - **false religion**
- Follows 2000yr old teachings of minor figure in other world religions. Promotes fanatacism, fear of self and others, tries to legitimise idea of omnipresent/omnipotent god. Idol worship is encouraged, as is rampant promotion of religion and self. Potentially more dangerous than any other religious group.
NZMusic.com *danger* A secret society or collective, recognisable by
-their acute and obsessive circular debates
-skepticism of mainstream established cults, politics, eachother
-Less frequently, testaments to their deity/figurehead 'New Zealand Music.'
Caution: To bewilder the casual observer, members often masquerade under one or more assumed names. The cult elders, or 'Old Skool', also enjoy subjecting new members of the cult (known as 'noobs') to bizarre hazing rituals, frequently resulting in humiliation.
Christianity. Can't really be called a false religion. There are too many factions of christianity to loop them all under the one heading. What is interesting, is that the basis of all the christian based faith is taken directly from the bible. An interesting retelling of the story of a political power struggle between the orthodox jewish church, and the heir to the davidian line. False religions is probably a better ways of putting it.
