It is really nice to see someone actually telling us what their band is called. I hate those shitty ads saying "established band, recording contract, international gigs...." and then don't tell you who they are.

like the ones posted by White Rhino etc? Know what u mean buddy

Take a look in the situations vacant column of the paper and add up how many of the ads disclose the name of the employer. I reckon the ratio would be the same here as it is there.

That sucks too. It is like they have no faith in their own companies name. "we can't tell them who we are or people won't apply"

//"we can't tell them who we are or people won't apply"

Well, companies that advertise directly will necessarily tell you who they are because otherwise noone would know where to send the CV.

Where a company goes through an agency, there are two reasons for not disclosing the name of the company, completely the opposite of your suggestion.

From the company's point of view, they may not have a human resources department or they may simply prefer to free up their own staff by paying someone else to do the gruntwork of vetting a wash of CVs. If people knew which company, a bunch would apply directly to the company, thereby defeating the purpose of paying the agency & cluttering up their mailbox with CVs they didn't want.

From the agency's point of view they prefer to keep their clients confidential partly to stop people from undercutting them by going directly to the company, and partly to avoid other agencies trying to nick their clients. When I was in the UK, a lot of competing agencies often tried to wheedle out of me the companies I'd already applied to.

There's also the 'commercial sensitivity' angle.
Your competitors don't need to know you're looking for someone.
In the case of a band with a contract, international gigs and a song in the top 10, why advertise that you aren't in a position to play live cos you don't have a gutarist?

Bah, should totally be a Wellington band IMO

What happened to These 4 Walls? Saw you guys at Eden's Bar last year it was fucking righteous. I'm a 9-year experienced 20 y/o guitarist from California down to play anything pretty much. 0210668302. Get back to me. Peace.

Luke

Huge opportunity and "disturbed", "hoobastank" and "fuel" don't go together.

Those are some pretty scary influences there.
Can't see anyone liking this shit.

Sorry to be harsh but that kind of music is really fucking awful guys.
You may be good musicians. Have you thought about playing something better?
