Hey there,
Years ago I requested artist pages for a couple of bands I used to be in, and they were set up for me no probs- but I've long since lost the access passwords.
>Alnico
>The Yes Men
Now these artist pages are basically arse! They're completely out-of-date, and aside from the wee discussion forums on each page (which are a couple of years stale anyway), there's nothing on them of any value.
I've tried emailing about this a couple of times, but nothing's getting done. I know you're flat out, but in all honestly, if the passwords can't be reset then I'd rather these pages were deleted to make room for fresh new artist pages! They're just taking up valuable space as they are!
Please?
You can email me at lance dot fowler at tiscali dot co dot uk if you need to go through anything with me!
Cheers,
Lance (foetusboy)

Don't you find old artist pages to be ...
Don't you find old artist pages to be an interesting snap shot of bands at a particular time? Like something frozen in time, like the town of Chernobyl

Chernobyl is a nice analogy... actually, I'm possibly planning on visiting Kyiv in the Ukraine as part of a last hurrah through Eastern Europe before flying home- apparently most scientists agree that there is no more dangerous radiation affecting the city of Kyiv, which is a relatively short distance away from the site of the meltdown... very reassuring!
I dunno bro, to my eyes, when I look at the number of new bands complaining about not having artist pages, and the number of defunct bands who still have unused artists pages, it just seems like a bit of an imbalance. I'm sure it's not a case of having to choose, but I'd rather have up-to-date content on there than fossilised artifacts.
It struck me the other day that I am almost completely out-of-touch with the NZ local scene at the moment, even though I'm here every day checking stuff out, I haven't got the vaguest idea about who the new rising young bands are & and what they're up to- unless they're brave enough to post something on the forums, with all the risks we know that can bring... I mean, some active press about young emerging bands, live reviews especially, would be a damn fine start.
'scuse me while I vent...
I think of it as, if they removed all ...
I think of it as, if they removed all the defunct bands, and kept adding new bands at the present rate .. there would be a big fat Zero artist pages on NZM :)
I was in Christchurch, and now I am in Norway. I am hearing the same amount about new NZ talent in both places hahaha.. HAR. Sad really.

Foetus rest assured we feel your pain. It is going to change radically, but as always theres a few things the staff need to do before we can do the big makeover.
