The Misfits are a horror-themed punk rock band formed in 1977 in Lodi, New Jersey and originally led by singer Glenn Danzig.
Glenn Danzig was very interested in Marilyn Monroe, and took the band's name from The Misfits, Monroe's last film. The band's early lyrical and graphical focus was on retro (1930s-'50s) science fiction, horror films, and B-movies.
The band often wore ghoulish makeup when performing, and bassist Jerry Only invented a hairstyle called the devilock which is still worn by fans today.
A "touring" incarnation of the band is presently led by original member and bassist, Jerry Only. Members of the touring group have included Marky Ramone (of the Ramones), and both drummer Robo and guitarist Dez Cadena of Black Flag fame.
The tickets would be $40 each including a booking fee.

Thanks guys but it is still to be confirmed - there are no NZ contracts written yet and the artsits lawyer and management are tied until tomorrow. So maybe there will be two shows in NZ, maybe none.
All I do know for certain is that they want to drink Tuatara Ardennes!

The management said that they would have their answer for us tomorrow.
I just found by accident that the Misfits were going to be in Sydney and emailed the booking agent, band and management.
It turns out however that independently of us there were other promoters (and venues) booking the band but the band thought that they were a hoax and cancelled the bookings.

They said that we would have an answer regarding a NZ show by the end of business - LA time. Which I am guessing is about 8pm or so - I should look it up!
