I HEART ALT TV

..even despite the (frequent) technical difficulties. I was expecting a C4 rip-off, but it's SO NOT!!!

They play HEAPS of cool music, really broad range of stuff. Lots I've never even heard of; main problem is there aren't any title captions, so I have to rely on the music videos to have a backdrop with the band's name on it so I can find out what the hell song it is.

Forums: NZ Music,

do you know if there's a way of contacting ALT tv (feedback via the website?) about the lack of titles? my aerial sucks and I don't even get tv1 but I've heard that comment about Alt tv before and thought it myself when I have caught bits of it at someone elses house.

hopefully it doesn't die before I get a decent aerial, it sounds kinda interesting.

hmmm - forgive my ingnorance here, but is ALT TV Ak only?

I'm in Welly

thanks for the feedback everyone

To answer the questions:

Titles - they are coming soon
Region - Auckland Only, sorry to them outside of Auckland, nothing personal
Feedback - info(at)alttv.co.nz web: www.alttv.co.nz (has tuning instructions)

we hope there's something on Alt for most music fans, so your feedback is always welcome

cheers

I really love the selection, I was watching a couple old black-and-white jazz/motown type clips for about 10 minutes before it even occurred to me that you don't generally switch on the music channel and see stuff like that. It was awesome.

Also VERY VERY HAPPY to have seen about four different Lemon Jelly tracks to date.

One minor concern I have is that I've seen Walkie Talkie Man about four times in the last week. Not that I especially hate the track or anything, but...I trust Alt TV isn't going to lapse into a narrow-ish playlist outside variety hours? Just checking...

I've only watched Alt TV for about an hour or so when I was at Heather's house, but I loved the selection - Jeff Buckley and a Guns'n Roses song I'd completely forgotten the existence of? Awesome.

cheers keep em coming - anyone hate us? I'm down with that feedback too

Narrowish - never, not what we're about, though we're limited as to what we can get and we're still building our catalogue so clips do repeat a bit at present

we're a work in progress :)

I hate that you're not in Wellington. I want some Alt TV love!

we love you Judy, wellington is welcome to come visit

well everybody was soooo nice at alt TV - but us poor wellingtonians had to be there on the day before the airconditioner was installed

I'm melting

put the titles on the video clips goddammit please!

oh and fire all your hosts and hire me.

Nicky Watson as a music show host is such a great train wreck. her interviewing skills improve the more stoned she is. Oh, you mean thats her natural disposition, oooppsss...

trainwreck or mashup?
