Heh, not yet. However, once I fulfill my resolution of world domination (and more groupies) all the musos will be falling over themselves to write dinky tunes of what a demented and tyrannical ogre I am. It's win-win!

Convert all the people on the email lists to the myspace vibe then when they're all there look to close the email lists and do it all on myspace.

Not sure if you're still reading this thread, but have you ever listened to Bruce Cockburn? Could be of interest to you. He certainly sings about a lot more things than being a Christian, but the personality (as in "personal-ness") of his songs makes his "fuck God is cool" stuff so much more interesting. Lots of it is more like "fuck, life is a struggle and what's this all about?" Produced by T-Bone Burnett, who's always worth checking out, as is his wife, Sam Phillips.
I listened to all of this stuff as a teenager by sitting in the Wellington Public Library, listening to them for free. So if you want access to this stuff, there's one avenue.

thanks for that info, sounds really interesting. i always like listening to songs questioning Christianity, but mostly from Christian point of views 'cos most secular songs attacking Christianity are by people who haven't really taken the time to understand it better

No, T-Bone Burnett is much more country, and much older. Not thigh-slapping "yee-haw!" country... His most recent thing that crept above the radar was producing and curating the soundtrack for that movie 'O Brother Where Art Thou'. Not sure if you saw that? Had lots of real olllllld music from the Southern States, "country music" from before there was a genre (and an industry) calling itself that.
I don't really know Burnett's songs though, was just drawing some links in my brain...
I've wondered if I could write a lyric celebrating (or at the least, exploring in a non-defensive and positive way) my atheism, without it seeming like an attack on religion. Then I remember that I've never written a song in my life and think it'd be a bad note to start on. :)
