Ah spillage! So you are no longer programming wellington's weather then? Based on the last few month of WellyWeather I thought you'd been abusing your powers.
nah, same business, different team. dropped all my old-school library duties to become a hard-core programmer, so no real change, just a little less responsibility, if a little more techy work to be done. Same desk, and all...
Pirated Versace is WAY better than authentic cos it's like Versace but doesn't cost as much. Not entirely convinced of Versace actually, can you get pirated Dolce & Gabbana?
i'll check around. i've only recently got into clothes so i proffess no expertise, but this shirt is great. regardless of who it is or isn't made by. damn shame my appointment was cancelled though.

5 year old has just run over 3 year old using a bicycle as weapon o' choice
Shall attend immeadiatly.
Island Bay Primary School Fair was weekend last. The 5yo spent his half of his $5 fair allowance on buying sponges to throw at the headmaster in the 'head-through-the-hole' game. What's up with that. Also bought an original 1958 wooden with cat-gut strings Spalding Pancho Gonzalez tennis racket for 50c from the bric-a-brac stall. Looks brilliant. Plays like a pig.
// Tennis Coaching
Ahhh, tennis. Loving it at the moment. I heartily recommend anyone in Welly to come down to the public courts in Kilbirnie every Sunday morning. We've got a regular foursome going, but the more the merrier - we could get a bit of a rotation going.
// 5 year old has just run over 3 year old using a bicycle as weapon o' choice
foal, did I already know you had kids the exact same as age as me? and why am I asking someone else what I know?
Tomorrow night. SJD and Phoenix! And then the rugby. Looking forward to both immensely.

Holy fuck. I need to join a club. I will go insane. My tennis is foundational to my spirit.

Holy fuck. Holy fuck. I love playing England with Carter and McCaw. If only Cully was playing.
Yes Tennis and Wife Swapping, sadly not a suburban myth.
Boys recovered, threatening Fair attendence has reduced snivelling.
Marvin Gaye now on, its more appropriate for this thread.
Did any Wellington bods go to Gramsci? I realise SJD is more the fashion, but as I've no doubt said before, I am most impressed with this Stray Voltage record.
Right better put the Tea on, everyone have a lovely weekend.
My title is 'Editorial Developer', but the part of my job that I'm going to be teaching is how to upload the new website that I'm the online editor for, which happens every fortnight.
I do a lot of other stuff as well, mostly editing and proofreading for other people's projects.
the real deal would be sitting at the beach with some beers, some pizza, a smoke, watching the boys swim in the bay, and partaking in this incredible weather, as opposed to sitting at my desk, watching the clock tick down to 5pm...
I went shopping for the eldest's 6th birthday present. Man they've got some kick-arse Lego around at the moment.
Squeezed onto a patch of grass at Midland Park with the rest of the office workers and ate my lunch. Kicked myself on the walk back to work through the Botanic Gardens, as the gardens were virtually deserted, and every bench seat overlooking the magnificent panorama of our city was empty.
And then freaked out when I logged onto my online banking for the first time in months. Where does all the money go?
Got up at 6:30. Noticed my clock's battery needs replacing. Went for a walk around Westmere, discovered a big hill which I had to walk up.
Got to work around 9am with the mail, including the new 'Where in the World is Wendy Brocolli' cd - ups D! Film crew in office filming boss for news or something. Weird.
Watched Alt TV, which is good although noted disappointing repetition in videos from yesterday. Reluctantly switched back to Juice. Answered emails, made phone calls, wrote emails, created spreadsheets (I have an embarrassing amount of love for excel).
Bought confectionery to send to London. Took photo holding 'Happy Birthday Ren' sign and posted it on myspace for Renee. Noted I have been dropped from top 8.
Went to the bank. Went to the post office. Bought pineapple lumps, milk bottles and jet planes. All in office partook. And what's this? It's after 4pm? Beer time..
Meh, I'm well behind the times, and all my new favourite bands are from Wellington anyways. Oh, except Ruby Suns who every time I see them I think "hey, these guys are WAY better than I remember". Haven't seen any movies in months (except a freebie to Corpse Bride which was a great story, but I'm kind of over musicals). Low Hum gig tonight. Oh, also want to see Battle Circus. Maybe I'll wear my dragon dress. Oh, and Jessie and I are planning to go to the Melbourne Big Day Out, although I suspect we may have missed out on cheap plane tickets...but that'd be an adventure, I've never been to Melbs. Jet Jaguar and his wife are in town and they've been giving me the lowdown on the best places to eat.
Oh, might go see The Kills. and MOTORHEAD! I don't even know shit about motorhead, but really, I'd kick myself if I missed it.
Watched Eraserhead last night, never seen it before. I thought it was pretty awesome, my nanowrimo novel is based on dreams so it was quite good research. Forgot about that old wives tale that you only dream in black and white. I know for a fact that's not true though, cos once I had a dream in which I was specifically amazed at how blue the harbour was. A little disconcerting since apparently only psychopaths dream in colour, but hey, haven't killed anyone yet. Anyways, my mate hated the movie with a burning burning passion, but he's a real bloke's bloke, also he really enjoys having something to complain about so I guess I did him a favour. He's coming to a Low Hum tonight and all, I reckon he'll have HEAPS to complain about by the end of the night. I'm trying to educate him, but I think some people are just lost causes. Speaking of lost causes, my sister's coming up for Foo Fighters, and I managed to get us table seats for Phoenix Foundation/SJD at the last minute, I'm hoping they have candles and bottles of wine like Eels. This time I'll have to curtail my drinking though, most of what I remember from the GREATEST EELS GIG OF ALL TIME is thinking "wow, this is great" and "damn, I wish I hadn't had so much wine"...
What else? The darts at work are all bent out of shape from overuse, which is supremely annoying now; it's amazing how addictive darts are. Everyone in the office has gotten quite good. I've been practising by imagining the interfaces of some of the stupid, stupid jenga-style systems that I have to try and maintain. We have too many clients through the office to put up face shots though. Arse.
Been going to the gym too...except I piked out a couple of times recently because I've somehow pulled a tendon from practising darts with my left hand. It's quite sore today, although I admit that's a really crappy excuse. :( Anyways, not losing any weight, but the instructors are really cool, and after I've subjected myself to a torturous pump class and headed off home, I get the rush like you wouldn't believe. I'm sure my flatmate doesn't work out hard enough cos he just quietly walks home and gives me funny looks whenever I cackle and jump up and down. I'm pretty sure I'm losing my pot belly, and I can maintain the plank position for way longer now. Go me!
OK, I think that's it really. Very much business as usual, although I do tend to go out a bit more in summer.
OH! OH! Props to the people that've been decorating Kingsland and Newton with stencilling and paper cutouts and posters, I love it. It's like graffiti for indie kids. They put up birds, calculators, skulls, there was a tiger and a cityscape, a transformer, trees, most recently some photocopies of kids' school drawings. The big fence that was hiding the new development has come down now, which is a shame cos it was AMAZING! With all the conventional pieces that seem to have started getting legal endorsement, the whole place is just an amazing blaze of art. Feels like home. Social engineering the way I like it.
