polititians at rod donalds funeral

I paid my respects to the rodster yesterday in the square.
at a very sad time where people should be feeling some sense of loss, some familiar parlaimentarians seemed like they couldn't care less...

1. helen clark - her speach was so emotionless and robotic, just like the ones she does at the apra awards.

2. dan brash - was so smug looking - with his fake campaign smile on.

shame shame shame...

"Prime Minister Helen Clark, who was moved to tears in parts of the service, ... " (NZ Herald 11/11/05)

I guess we all see what we want to see and hear what we want to hear, eh?

And while I agree that The PM's speaking style is not an example of oratorial splendour it doesn't automatically follow that she does not care.

Maybe Helen's style is best criticised on a different thread- Don't let a tangent become disrespectful to the obvious grief & sadness of the occasion.

the rodster?

I thought it was more just his drooling/oblivious retard look he does so well, everyone else is lookjed sad and in MOURNING or atleast respectful, old Don was just smiling away like he was at some parlimentary shindig...
