I stumbled across this today - CBGB is closing down! There's this campaign to save it (the usual petition) etc.
I really wanna go and have a beer there one day, and buy the hat, so it would be stink if it closed before I got there!

//Although CBGB's lease was up on September 1, 2005, the fight continues! The landlord of CBGB's, the Bowery Resident's Committee (BRC) a non-profit homeless shelter that receives almost its entire income from public tax money, has said they will not renew the lease.
On August 10, a judge ruled that CBGB’s did not owe any back rent to the BRC, contrary to BRC claims that the club owed more than $90,000. The case will now go back to court, and CBGB’s will stay open until the judge rules.//
