ever wondered what preservative 220 or 621 are?

we eat them all the time...
numbers which we dont know the full background contents of.
this site is really interesting if you wanna find out what you are eating... all you do is look up the number an it's tell you.

for example; someone gave me 2 boxes of PODS for my birthday, i looked up the numbers for the colours they use and all 3 are banned in most european coutries. anyone want 2 boxes of PODS?

E173

avoid it, banned in some countries

E220

Yum, yes please.

Oh yeah, please send the pods to me at PO Box 19090, Wellington. Cheers! I <3 pods, especially the Bounty ones. I think that's the pirate in me.

What the crap are pods?

Tasty tasty mini chocolate pies - check out this site cos it's all I could find (it's like aliens brought Pods down to Earth for us, along with the pyramids...):

Fucking hippies.

haha - or a race of very advanced blonde haired space people

sure I know what 220 is. Even organic wines have it added. It is after all the key difference between wine and vinegar.

ps- it naturally occurs in grapes anyway...

Hehehe I was just thinking that!

If you ferment *all* of the sugar out, and the wine has naturally high sulphites it can occasionally be possible to get away without adding any (and then usually only reds). But pretty much not, especially if you want a sweet white wine...

I'm all for accurate labelling though. Although it's pretty funny to see people reading wine bottles in the supermarket and being confused because of the "traces of fish" may remain on the label.

Nah fuck pods man. I called them explaining that the Twix item in the Pods line were falsly advertised on the packageing to be considerable larger than the ones in the box. They explained that they had had many calls explaining the same thing and sent me a complimentary box. I also noticed that the confectionary conglomerate that makes Pods and other junk food had recently changed hands, or been rebranded.

Theres a new big scare in the nutrition field about 'Trans-fatty Acids' which are found in many heavily processed foods. The Food and Drug Administration are getting a bill passed in the States that will force manufacturers to put the amount of t.f.a. on the wrapper.

621 = MSG - everyone knows thats pretty bad, but its also the single best flavour enhancer on the planet. . .

oh yeah - here's a nice list of all the additives, if you were wondering....
