Well that was a pretty cool party until the balcony collapsed. I personally feel stink about that for the people that live there, I don't know them but I think we should put on a gig to raise money for repairs. I'll ask some other bands, try and make it five bucks and all the money goes to the balcony repair fund. Shit, I was pretty drunk and dont remember exactly but there must have been several thousand dollars worth of damage, plus maybe $1400 for the emergency services callout. My head hurts...

Two hundred people on the balcony ...
Two hundred people on the balcony according to that article? No way could you have gotten that many people on... unless they were extremely fucking packed. In which case no wonder it collapsed.

i got there just as it happened, the emergency services people were pretty cool dealing with the drunk people. shame on whoever dropped two dollars on the ground.

Two dollars! Willickers! To think it could have been me who found that shiny piece of monetary bliss. Yeah credit to the emergency services and whoever it was who sort of directed people out, I'm assuming some of the less drunk flatmates.

that party was a little too packed really... People were still coming in up until the collapse and it was already impossible to move in the house as it was. I've been to the last 4 big parties there and each time they just get more and more insane. Maybe they should only have one well known band, not three.
I like the idea of a benefit gig though. From my own personal teenage firelighting misadventure I know each Fire appliance costs $800. I counted 4 of them there when I left... god knows how much ambulances cost to call out... there were 4 of them too...

Deja Voodoo were playing, the Bleeders were supposed to but didn't because the balcony fell before they got a chance. Another random band with a name i forget but had something to do with farming played first, they had a violinist and a female vocalist and no guitarist if I remember correctly. Which I may not, because I wasnt really in a remembering frame of mind. I still need to talk to some other bands about the gig, I've been slack
