Hey,my band are wanting to make a website(we have one but its free and shit) but we have no clue on anything.Any help on where to go,what web hosting services are good(and cheap) would be appreciated.

I recently put a website together for an artist (www.lilygreen.co.nz). For web-hosting I used open-host www.openhost.co.nz, they have range of plans and are well priced you can get your domain name there too...sems to be one of the cheapest options around and I had zero trouble with their service.
In terms of design sofware...Macromedia Dreamweaver is pretty wicked (if you can get hold of it)..and doesnt take long to learn basics.

There's two things you need to do when ...
There's two things you need to do when you start...buy the domain name (www.something.com) and then get a server (some dudes computer that your website uses its bandwith and uploads to) try www.iserve.co.nz they have pakages where you can get both in one...but if your cheeky you can try and find a site that has cheap domain names...and then a site that has cheap serving! If you don't know much about dreamweaver and making the site...its mayb a best bet to find someone to do it for you...it depends on whether you want to spend the time and learn how to do it(the cheap way)..or whether you want to pay someone who will in turn..get a site up pretty quick smart (the expensive way)..hope i helped in some small way.best of luck!

yeah, basically shop around for good deals, there's plenty of places that will sort you out with hosting/domain names. . .(my hosting is a bit secret-squirrel, so i can't recommend it sadly)
i use dreamweaver as well, i do most of my design work in that, then add the majority of my content, and some formatting and fine-tuning, using a text editor.
