yeah, its hardly an inspiring first announcement - other than Iggy and the Mars Volta(who came 2 years ago), its all a bit too same-old-bullshit for my liking. . .
there better be some damn good underground acts in the second announcement, otherwise i can't see any reason to go. . .
agreed, yeah Mars Volta did come last year... but the plus is they're ass kickin' showmen and their new stuff is pretty different compared to how they were two years ago. But honestly.. White Stripes. Franz Ferdinand. Again. ow my feelings. Flag, i'd rather spend my money going to Phat 06 and have two days of madness than one day of deja vu.
Maybe you guys have seen them and could inform me more accurately - I've seen a lot of people saying that they were really disappointed by TMV live, because they just lapsed into 40-minute drum solos and abstract noodling. But I've seen a few live MTV videos etc, where they just played the songs straight.
Not that I can go this time, but for future reference I was wondering what they were like the last BDO? Because I really don't want to have to do acid to 'get it'. I guess festival, ie short, sets would be different to headlining concerts.

what is wrong with you people? It's IGGY AND THE STOOGES! I was all set to fly to OZ to see em on the back of tour rumours for later this year, and now they comin here! They are worth the price of admission alone. Now some mroe dance stuff would be cool....
mad! I just found a photo of me on the bigdayout website in their photo gallery. Its of the crowd at the '05 event, and you can see me in my "photographers" orange vest in the midground, looks like i'm heading to the press room..haha. crazy.
the BDO has gone to the pits since 1999 - too many carbon copys of people (preps) and thugz wrecking your time there, as for the music, i can only see one good band (iggy and the stooges) playing there. WORST EPISODE EVER!

i've only seen them once - at the BDO in 2004 - and they were fantastic....
apparently the galatos show was even better. . .
they do play long songs though - possibly got through 3 (or 4) in the BDO set. . .
they really need to get back to getting ...
