We want to play a combination of heavy punk/hardcore/metal/rock music.
Not into nu metal ie: deftones.
This band will be upbeat, heavy, driving, dynamic, and energetic.
Bands of inflence: underoath, glassjaw, jairus, coheed and cambria, the bled, norma jean, it dies today, muse, incubus, finch, as cities burn, bullet for my valentine, thrice, kse, porcupine tree, raised fist, ,snapcase, refused, dillinger escape plan.

I wouldn't want to be in a band where I have to be a Christian to be in it, but if you are open to having people who aren't but who respect your faith that would be something I would be interested in looking into.

really? i always thought that numetal was the name given to the genre of Hip Hop influenced Metal. Ie, RATM, except when they were around the phrase hadn't been coined yet. I think Korn were the first band to really make fuckloads of money out of the genre...then spawned the next generation of tamed down even more radio numettallers like Limp Biskit and Linkin Park, even locals like Blindspott etc..etc and all the try hards since. Metal with DJs basically.

Nu metal to me is any highly produced rock that has really simple and tight rhythms. Korn and all those rap metal bands are nu metal, sure. But so are bands like nickleback, lostprophets and seether and all them. Mayb they're nu rock, who knows. But to me, it's any music that sounds real impersonnal but sells itself as alternative and apparently passionate music
