Hi.
I have a full set of songs ready to go, but I need a band to perform them with. I am a singer and guitarist (Bmus(Otago)contemporary, Dip Aud Eng) who has played for ten years, sung for about seven. I am 23/m
Stylistically I am influenced by:
The Fanatics, HDU, Interpol, New Order, Mint Chicks, Elliot Smith, Explosions in the Sky, Billy Corgan, Mogwai, Ladytron, The Killers, Fischerspooner and Prime Devastation
I would describe the music as being predominantly electro rock.
I can email you mp3 demos to check out which I have recorded in my home studio.
I am looking for a bassist, drummer, another guitarist, and a keyboard/synth player.
I would expect an initial EP would be ready by December 2005, followed by some sort of summer tour January/February 06, all going to plan.
I'm looking for serious musicians who want to get somewhere with their music. I see this as a long term project and will be trying to find people who gel musically and personally, with me and each other.
Ideally there will be a mix of males and females - this is not a macho rock band and would benefit from the different feel that women bring to music. You would also have fairly good gear (not an essential I guess) and transportation goes without saying (even though I just said it).
What is essential is that you have been a musician long enough to have formed a certain style of playing that is uniquely your own, your own sound if you will.
I guess the age range I'm looking for would be between 19 and 30, but of course if you're outside of these brackets and think this sounds like a bit of you, by all means get in touch.

Email me from the address that you want me to send the mp3s to. Please leave details of your music experience, name/sex/age, equipment and any other relevant stuff.

Look I can understand if the Prime ...
Look I can understand if the Prime Devastation reference is intimidating you a little bit - that's natural. I don't expect that I'll be working with anyone who can play like those guys - can anybody else capture the primal roar that those guys produce? Don't let it scare you off.
hurry hurry hurry there's still places ...
hurry hurry hurry there's still places left.....quite a few actually....
So I'm going to assume that everyone ...
So I'm going to assume that everyone hates these sorts of bands. Or hates me, sob. Or hates these bands, and hates me for liking them.
