Well, I have just got back from a week at SPlendour in the Grass and Interpol Melbourne.
Splendour was one fucking great event, well done to the organisers, it was so well set out and the massive circus style tent was perfect for if it rained and thank god it did'nt.
A great line up with bands such as The Futureheads, Shihad, Bloc Party and The Finn Brothers standing out. I was interested in seeing Interpol and they were good but not outanding, and my thoughts were that maybe the large crowd was not intimate enough for the music they play, this was confirmed by there Melbourne show on the Wednesday night in Melbourne at Metro's.
This would have to been the BEST live perfomance I have seen/heard, ever, the sound in that venue was fucking amazing and in comparison to Slpendour the connection was made by the audience with every song taken up and sang back to the band, of which they responded by giving a kickass performance. If you are lucky enough to see Interpol when they are "on" you will know what I mean.
