Dunedin Otago

am looking for a song with the words Dunedin and Otago in it for a school project.
anyone have any ideas other than the obvious highlanders song.

Forums: NZ Music,

both words dont have to be in the same song,
i just need the words in a song somewhere,
there must be a song somwhere.

ready to fly by The Verlaines 'dunedin is cold and by winter it's going to get colder' (Ready to Fly album). no idea about Otago though

here's one..."Tuapeka Gold"...'The day I left Dunedin I could not help but cry /
For not one single person came to bid myself goodbye'. Says the Phil Garland website about this song: "This song proved popular and was printed in the United Nations Songbook during the 1970s. It was recorded by some others and used in English teaching courses at German and Japanese universities."

Another old folk number that commemorates the weather ... "Bright Fine Gold" ... 'I'm weary of Otago / I'm weary of the snow / Let my man strike it rich / And then we'll go.'

my school song started off with the line "nestling in the heart of otago". I don't think there's any recorded versions available though.

there's the council song "It's all right here", which I think was sung by aucklanders. If you ask TVNZ or the DCC, they can send you the video, it's particularly rousing.

Or, southern man, I thinkt hat was the Speight's song - I'm a southern man/And I'm Southern bred/I got the South in my blood/And I'll be here till I'm damn well dead.

I know this is no use to you now, but I really wanted to use this to grandstand for the Otago rugby team, who are going to slay Canterbury this weekend, all things going right.
