hey all! i've just joined the nzmusic.com community, and as you do, you go check out the site, and fourms and stuff... and i checked out the "ARTISTS" fourm... and i got very lost... then i figured out that each band (listed) has their own fourm... i know that if people want to chat about a band they can go find it in the ARTISTS fourms but wouldnt it be better if you just made it a fourm where you can post with a heading of the band you are gonna talk about instead of individual mini-fourms???
blah... just an idea :D

Hey Fresh up, the old forum used to be like that and we found we just wound up with heaps of topics about Zed, fur Patrol and other popular bands, that pretty much repeated the same comments. Not to mention stated up some firey arguments between fans and non-fans. We figured the best thing to do would be give each artist their own forum where fans can chat freely.

Auto - refresh on home and forum pages', except when posting, would be handy. (And bring back the radio please. Use Wimamp!)

1, how would you define the latest topic? today we have 9 new topics on the general forum alone
2, tone changes to a little annoyed, what is the interest in only the latest? There are lots of great topics out on the forums that hardly get posted in on because people are falling all over themselves to post on the latest flavor of the day.... sorry now I am a bit cranky but i have seen very good discusions almost stop mid sentance

By latest, I mean the boards which are in current use by members (what I actually meant was the latest postings by members, a sort of slowed one - way chat), so you can view and engage in multiple conversations, almost simutaneously.
As for the walking wounded boards (the one that halt mid senten...) perhaps we could be given the ablilty to place them on a "Can You Tell Me What Ever Happened To..." page? A page were "great topics" can be resusitated. (Or perhaps our brains have been exposed to so much radiation from our monitors, caused by spending too much time viewing NZMusic.com, so much so, our attention spans have shrunken dramatically?)
Oh, a little spell checker would be nice too (or is that asking for too much?).

I just read that a bit more carefully, please forgive me if i am being a patronising old busy body a way to see what is happening on the topics is to expand your comments limit.... if you don't know what i mean go to the main forum and you should see it there you can set it to show up to the last 50 comments.... upside down mind

I was thinking of a little auto - refresh pop - up which you could lug around with you (from page to page) so you do not have to keep refering back to the main forum. This would allow you to see what's being posted if your on another forum, or if your busy typing a response.
The spell checker is because: 1) I'm too lazy to use an actual dictionary,
2) I' m too lazy to open a spell checker programme (and it probably would slow my computer down).

I get round it by having 2 NZMs on task bar one that is the main forum and the one i am using so auto refesh would be useful for that, having it up twice means i can cross reference while posting.. ie keep this open while i look on the other for links or quotes or what ever, and I swear by using an open email message window as a spell check, shouldn't take much to have it sitting idol on your task bar?
