hey sommerset are a cool band, they got a good sound and i was wondering have they been doing gigs at all? coz i havnt heard of any??? if they are then they need to get a better promoter for their gigs. also do they have an album out or singles???

I wish I read this particular board six months earlier, then I would know that my "More Songs from last centuary" CD came with lyrics and the kick-arse "Artless" Vid which I (and many more) have never seen before!

This is a crime, I would love to see c4 show it on homegrown, or atleast have it downloadable on a site like this. To paint you a picture its pretty much them playing live before they hit it big with some stills.

You would wonder why make the video if you'll only see it by purchasing the acutal cd - now that actually makes sense in todays p2p world.

At the moment I'm scowering their site, and WILL download "Inside" single which I havn't yet heard, but know it will be Great!

Everyone thought they were opening so when Ryan came on stage and was all like "Howdy" then broke into their first song I was like "hmmm ?"
But I wasnt THAT surprised cause Id heard on Juice earlier that day that Sommerset were highly favoured to play, and Im happy with the result I like Sommerset more than The Bleeders anyways.

I went to the Green Day concert aswell....Sommerset fuckin rocked! They were way better than Simple Plan *vomit*....but of course Green Day were the best.

It's always a little lame when you see bands posting in their own forum, but it seems right now like we need to ...

Sommerset has NOT broken up. With all the recent shake-ups everyone could be forgiven for thinking otherwise, but, we're still very much together right now.

Milon has left the band. As yet we do not have a permanent replacement - to play shows in the last couple of months we have had fill-in players - Ben from Kitsch (who have also NOT broken up) and Beltsy from Australian band Mindsnare. We will be spending the winter finding someone to fill the void on a permanent basis.

Our website is NOT down. We've got some temporary trouble with the .co.nz domain name, but our earlier domain name - www.sommerset.net.nz is still very much active, as is www.myspace.com/sommerset

We've just come back from 2 weeks in Australia supporting Strike Anywhere and doing our own shows - it all went really well, one of the best tours we've had over there. Beltsy had one 5-hour practice with us and then jumped straight into 2 weeks of shows - he's a trooper.

We'll almost certainly be playing around NZ during music month - if Ben from Kitsch is available to do the shows with us (Kitsch are recording their new album as we speak, so he's pretty busy) you'll definitely see us in Auckland and Wellington at least.

Look out also for a new video next month - for our song "In Between".
