The Pop-up Ad for White Noise

It's a pain in the arse because it screws up your typing and, if you are deleting something, it skips back to previous pages. I know that sites need advertising revenue, but someone should have put their foot down on this one.

Heehee I'm gonna refuse to ever see this because it has annoyed me so much . . . . *advertising backfire* . . . . although I suppose I am talking about it ?!?

Yep pretty much the same here. I can understand having it pop up once or twice - BUT EVERY DAMN TIME I OPEN A NEW PAGE!?!?

I understand that NZM needs the advertising revenue but surely this is being just a tad invasive for the boards readers?

[Of course I won't notice it when I get home and get back to using Firefox]

? Is it something that comes up off the front page? -bypass it by going straight for the forums. Or get a browser that blocks pop-ups.

Although I suppose it's not so simple to change your work's browser..

It comes up no matter what page you are on - whenever you open a new page or refresh the page you are on.

As you said us at work don't have any say over what browser we have (though I have nudged the IT boss about both Firefox and OpenOffice now).

That's what I like about working for a small business .. what the boss doesn't know.. ;)

fken thing... U C it made me miss a few letters....

My bad. Shouldn't be on the forums now.

You guys are brilliant :-)

Apologies all. We definitely fought hard to keep it out of the forums. Of course the fuck up meant after all that it appearred there for a short time. Sorry guys.

Like Richie McCaw's head and neck area, we regard the forums as sacred and any advertising tends to work around the forums not 'over' them! Carry on

"A Cockup" by Mr Anderson

Once upon a time, I submitted a topic to the forums. When I came to check on it, I couldn't find it. I thought it had gone into The Bar, but I must've put it in here instead. What a retard. I assumed the topic had been blocked so as not offend the advertisers. Today, I found my topic and realised how wrong I was.

My apologies, and a big thank you for sorting out the pop up.

But wouldn't it be so much better if there was a way to show that a topic had been moved to a different forum? It's annoying to have a "WTF!?" moment as you try to figure out what has happened to your current favourite discussion.
