OI! Wellington massive....

Give me directions for

i)good and preferably not well-visited (ie undiscovered) op shops. Also if they were open on saturdays it would be a bonus. I realise by telling me where it is you are thereby destroying its undergroundness, so if you would like to keep it our little secret then email me eugenedeath@hotmail.com.

ii) tasty turkish kebab shops. cheap if possible but where are the best simple turkish kebab shops?

thanks. looking forward to seeing the windy city again.

Forums: The Bar,

bro'...
the best kebab in town is definately lebonese.
phonecian felafel. kent tce next to delux that's next to the embassay.

they have the nicest bread out of the lot of 'em. (and there are a lot).
if you don't mind the gherkins go for a super felafel. or if you want a chook in yer kebab get a shish ta wok.
both $7.50 and delicousness.
i haven't any better.
my gripe with the other guys is the bread they use is so doughy and yuck. phonecian uses a type of pan fried bread not unlike naan. yumm.

Yeah, I thought of their shish tawook straight away when I read jimi's post.

In my new found role as self righteous vegetarian I guess I should be encouraging you to check out the massive vegan sandwiches at Deluxe next door... If you're gonna do Turkish, do a sit down meal somewhere I reckon. Preferably Coburg, Melbourne. :)

Phoenician Falafel do good meat kebabs, but I don't like their falafel so much. If you're going to Newtown to go op shopping there, get a vegetarian mezze from Cafe Laz instead.

I really dig the kebabs at King Kebabs on Cuba, for optimal effect you have to buy them about 3am. Soo gooood. Jimi, when are you here?

//Jimi, when are you here?

Watch out for Jessie, she has busy hands.

// for optimal effect you have to buy them about 3am.

Don't say that, it just makes me think of two-four food which is so good when drunk but death-inducing when sober.

//Jimi, when are you here?

Leaving Nellyville at 3 today (so keep the advice coming), ferry at 6ish. Bit of a family reunion - get to see my 1/2 year old neice's birthday on Friday. Staying with mates Friday night and got Saturday to fuck around/opshop until ferry at about 6 30.

//she has busy hands

As long as she's not a carnie. You know; circus folk, small hands, smell like cabbage.....
P.S I want meat in my kebab, all you fucking vegie hippies out there get lost. haha

//I want meat in my kebab

I've been saying that for nearly two years now....

bring a jacket & hat, its cold here today . . .

If you want quantity over quality, the kebab place in Hataitai makes big fuck off huge arse kebabs, though the char-grilled taste they have I don't really like.

//As long as she's not a carnie. You know; circus folk, small hands, smell like cabbage.....

hey theres nothing wrong with having carnie hands!

//Staying with mates Friday night //

Going SJF?

yo jimi... when are you going to wellys?

Look at my post above bro. Yep I'm staying with Woody and Russ etc. If you want me to give them any messages then post here by 3. How's the hailstorms treating ya?

tell them that ash is going to alexisonfire and rise against overseas and that hes a lucky fuck coz alexisonfire is amazing and Ill never have a chance to see them. Tell woody to hook me up with the thrice dvd and stop being lazy. Have a good time bro, theyll treat you well. Your lucky, I miss them. See you in a few daysish.

delete this thread. it will make me homesick.

go to the hutt for all tour opportunity shopping needs - Petone St Vinnie's & the central hutt sallies are good (though that sallies especially is incredibly overpriced). I've never been satisfied with town, heh. There's also a savemart in Upper Hutt. Hutt Cashies kicks the ass of town's in my experience.

Trash Palace (dump shop in the Porirua) and the Happy Valley dump shop (just between Brooklyn & Owhiro bay) should be open on saturdays.

save mart is an excellent place for second hand clothes

although in christchurch, the save mart's have big competition from the various $2 op shops around town which have a lot of really good stuff and everything is $2

Oh yeah and just an overall post to say thanks for all the help, keep it coming. I'll be sure to give a post-trip report :)

op shopping in the hutt., I'll be able to pick up some good Iron Maiden tshirts yeah?

//op shopping in the hutt., I'll be able to pick up some good Iron Maiden tshirts yeah?

not likely, the hutters wear them till they fall apart.

//op shopping in the hutt., I'll be able to pick up some good Iron Maiden tshirts yeah?

Surely people in the Hutt would be most likely to HOLD ON TIGHT GET THE HELL AWAY FROM IT YOU PREP to their Iron Maiden tshirts, and therefore there won't be any in the op shops? I'd be interested to hear your findings.

damn you and your lightning fast fingers, Heather!

you weren't complaining last night

Everything looks different in the harsh light of morning.

jimi - take a journey to Upper Hutt and visit this place on lane st. SaveMart or Whatever - cheap as op-shop clothing. Another place i suggest you check out is St Vincent De Paul in petone - Still going after many years - brought my lucky leather jacket/stadium coat - there 5 years back for $10 - not so lucky it got ripped in 2003 - dagnabbit
