The Inside Word on The WBC

Some of you maybe wondering what has been goin' on with The WBC over the last few months. Well, back in early June our guitarist Matt, left the band for South America (goin' via Turoa to work for the season).

We had 6 guitarists try out mid June, none of whom were quite suitable and with gigs @ The Queenstown Winter Festival and a couple w/ The Black Seeds looming mid July we enlisted the talent of Neil Watson on guitar over that period.

We had 5 more guitarists try out last week and it finally looks like we've found our man. We never anticipated that it would be such a mish to find someone suitable.

But it doesn't stop there. We're now on the hunt for a keyboard/organ player to join the band and will hopefully become an eight piece at some stage in the very near future.

There have been a few people asking when we're gonna release an album. We're workin' on it alright?! We've just finished recording 4 new tracks and will be releasing a couple of them for radio and promotional purposes. You can listen to 'em online at Amplifier.co.nz

You'll be able to catch The WBC in action once again in about a month. The band's NEW website will be up 'n running shortly.

Well, with the jolly ol' festive season upon us it might be wise

I just saw the "Ease Ya Mind" video on Space.

1. The blonde maidens were cheesy, because they so obviously weren't real blonde maidens, they were bottle blonde models dressed as maidens. I've get to see a New Zealand music video that has booty girls that don't end up looking like ho's. Oh, maybe that Mighty Scoop video.

2. The vibrating speaker animation was silly and unneccessary. Like, sitting back, relaxing and enjoying the fine wine vs having your arse rocked by booming sounds. Not quite the same thing, eh?

3. Other than the above two things it was a lovely video. The temptation to literally show the band sitting back, relaxing and enjoying the you-know-what was avoided. It was almost as much fun as seeing the w00da play live.

4. st00 is hot.

Hey! I was listening to ZM in my bad-taste flatmate's car yesterday, and they said the latest recipient of their nZM campaign thingy (that one that Evermore *koff* won last time around) is The WBC! Now that's a decision I'm happy to back.

I saw the WBC and the Offbeats at the Harbour View Hotel in Raglan last night. Very, very choice, and the new song, the one they have NZ on Air funding to record, has the best brass bit in it. More w00da in Raggiz, please.

I was spewing that I didn't get to see the WBC at the soundshell the other weekend, fricken shite-as weather, what was it thinking?
