Ain't no bogan here sonny... ummm as far as older Shihad goes it's a bit less 'melodically friendly' and a bit more 'rhythmically interesting'. Check out 'Derail' from Churn for a great example of this. I guess that with the new stuff (so far) I've nodded along to the verse and then the big 'sing-song' chorus comes in and my interest wanes quickly. Still as I said, it will be interesting to hear the 'non-single' tracks.

Bulls-eye baby. The latter part especially as a tonic to the former (but primary) ingredients. Its definitely interesting in a good way.

Well this is similar to their last album... In that they released a single with some really decent songs (Something Wrong, Mistreated) and then comfort me. The possibility was there for them to really do something, go down an path. But they didn't they tried to appease the label, go for something conservative that would sell. And it didn't.
The same thing is potentially happening here. I like Blah Blah Blah and 12XU but Alive... This isn't Shihad bashing, I have reasons for this, I don't hate Shihad. I got burnt last time and this is shapeing up too much like then.

On another subject. Do you like SML mana? Have you heard their album? Cause thats some of the best work to come from Jon and Tom IMHO...

No certainly not! Actually Killjoy is my favorite I'd say. I guess they just don't appeal to me as much as they used too (but then I was quite a different person then and they were quite a different band).

It's just good too see that they're still in the game and doing what they want to do - as I said I'll be interested to hear the album tracks and I think it's definatley the most promising sounds we've heard from them in the last couple of years (*in my oh so very very humble opinion)...
