I guess this will only interest about 5 people here, but Gibson must have got rid of Trace Elliot, because they have new amps. And they look purty too. I think they are based in the UK again!
Every bass player here should be excited and happy. And everyone who dislikes america should be happy too.

it's a long and complicated issue, and I'm not too sure if it's been sorted, or if I should indeed say anything, but in a nut shell, yes gibson did lose trace elliot, and it was brought by the guy who owns Orange ... that's all I'll say as I said above, it's a long and complicated issue ...
The copyright on the name Trace Elliot ...

no-one at Gibson knew
Some guy got it for sub$20000US
Apparantly its Peavey boys... so their goes the Yankphobia bit.
The name was apparantly the most valuable piece of the bankrupted company.
Gibson will soon have a new line of Bass amps ready to rock, unfortunatly they will need a new name.
As an aside you should try Ashdown, the same guy who started Trace, totally different sound but fair whups the Trace gear. Less hifi more Bass like...

I know some one at Gibson who knew ! .. but Henry's people didn't listen, hence the sale went through, without him knowing, it was brought by Cliff who owns orange Amps. It's a long story and one I won't go into .. I'm not even too sure if Cliff owns it now or not .. I know cliff knows the guys at Peavey but not sure if he sold it to them .. I know Gibson .. well Henry ... aren't too happy though ... !!!

It is definitely Peavey who own it now, but it will be run as a separate company, targeting separate markets, which is good to know.
