Zed and Fur Patrol have been around for about the same time, but Zed got Ray Columbus (who was a family friend) as a manager really early on, while Fur Patrol walked the indie route until Warner signed them in 2000. (And all the fans say ABOUT BLOODY TIME!)

So...Fur Patrol found success the hard way, relying on their creative and technical merits (not to mention fantastic live performances), whereas it may be that Zed are just a middling-to-good band who only became stars because of their connections. If that's the case, then Zed will be struggling pretty soon. For Fur Patrol, however, the sky's the limit. (And all the fans say ABOUT BLOODY TIME!).

I've been a staunch Fur Patrol fan from the beginning. It doesn't matter to me whether they're lead or support, just as long as they're finally getting the exposure they deserve. The audience response will always be the most important success gauge, and for that, Summer Hummer was a coup. (And all the fans say AMEN!)

Im a fur patrol fan, and im a Zed fan, i think they both sound good live and they both sound good on CD. Its not like Zed havent worked for how far theyve got. They write songs, play songs and perfrom songs just like any other band. True. Fur patrol have worked mighty hard, but you don't get as far as zed have by not doing anything at all and sitting around waiting for things to hsappen, It wasnt Ray Columbus who got them all together in the first place and gave them music lessons was it? have you recorded a cd thats gone platinum in NZ? Have you been signed up to an american record label? When you have then i think you have he right to come here and say thats its not hard work. (ps im not some teenybopper girl, im 18)

they both did really well at the music awards last night zed taking out best voalist(nathan king),album of the year and top group. and fur patrol taking out best female vocalist(julia deans),single of the year and best song writer of the year.i love zed.
