mint chicks- respect your audience dickholes

playing your "old" songs at double speed

you may be sick of them but i dropped coin to see them done properly

Forums: NZ Music,

ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!
how would you like to play it 'properly'?
ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!

.......cock.

the way we play licking letters is the way it is recorded on the new album.
next time you are thinking of giving a band a tip on how to play their songs properly, consider your lack of knowlege on the subject.
we havn't played licking letters slow for over a year, and we wont be playing it slow ever again.

which one are you? Newayz, it's wicked playing those songs superfast when i am drunk :P

this thread just got funny

Licking Letters is on the album?
How many songs from the EPs are gonna be on it?

PS: <3 your band, Logie.

I am really looking forward to the album

Oh, The Mint Chicks, you make it so hard to love you.

hahah. shitohdear.

man, mike, you still got that Optigan?

nah i fucking agree with the Bays on this!
i mean, the songs don't sound like the what i hear on their videos, i mean the lead singers vocals are shit live, no where near as good sounding as when they're recorded, and shit, the last gig i went to the mint chicks played out of time for a few moments!
i payed good money NOT TO BE DISAPOINTED!

--mint chicks- respect your audience dickholes--

Surely the 'proper' way for a band to play THEIR OWN SONGS is to play them however they like? And if you wanna hear an exact rendition of the recorded version of a song, why not take your discman/ipod along to the next gig you go to?

Robs has a point. A band have the right to play the songs they write how ever they want, when ever they want.

Artist License.

And yes, if someone wants to hear the songs exactly as they are recorded, they should listen to the recording.

// Artist License.

Excuse me...Artistic Licence

I think
it depends as to whether it was
Good or bad
If different but good cool
you've seen something most people haven't
if different but bad because the band has snorted too much white powder in the toilet
or are rolling drunk
Maybe there is a cause for anger
Unless you are talking about a punk band
who can get away with being bad
as the message of "I am a self indulged little brat rich kid, I really have nothing to compain about but, but, I Fucken Hate You Anyway"
Is far more important than being able to play your instrument
We all need rebels without a clue
who in later life turn out to be sales reps or lawyers
Except for that one tosser dickhead with the swastika on his head
who I punched out for making fun of my motorized skateboard

Umm
Go Hard Mint Chicks
And ban dickheads with swastikas!

you're an idiot! when i go to a gig, i want to be satisfied, not by some high-energy sloppy arty wank over a great song, but by something i can recognise and sing a long to.

you would have
been
disappointed by
dylan in 2001

well there's no denying that i'm an idiot, but surely it is equally idiotic to go to a mint chicks gig and expect a sing along? perhaps you're a mint chicks virgin, so your comment is warranted, but now you know, that is just how they play live.

i have to say, i like going to a gig where i recognise the songs too, metallica and muse, two of my favourite concerts, were great, and i attribute that to knowing every song. at the same time, when i went to sonic youth last year i was a sonic virgin, i only knew one of the songs they played, but it goes down as the greatest concert i've ever been too. and the mint chicks, i don't know any of their songs but on the occasions i've seen them i've found satisfaction in dancing around like a maniac. all were a different style of gig, but all very satisfying.

// perhaps you're a mint chicks virgin, so your comment is warranted, but now you know, that is just how they play live.//

thats the worst bit, every gig of their's i've been to, they ruined it, way to make fans guys!

fun gays

...Its hard to believe the short sighted, boring crap that gets put on this site by some people. This thread definitely takes the cake. Go get a life fer chrissake...

Keep up the good work Mint Chicks. Looking foward to the new album.

"respect your audience dickholes" sounds like something Fred Durst would say.

hahahhaha, "dickhole"?

Awesome.

Goldenaxe are the complete opposite. Their live set is catchy and easy to dance along to, their records are chaotic and mad.

I enjoy all the meats of our cultural stew.

What a crazy thread...lets tell The Mint Chicks, of all bands, to play slower. They're a kick arse punk band and I for one love their new single. blah....

Heres an idea , if you dont like a bands live performance dont go and see them live , continue to buy their studio releases if they still float your boat but dont expect an artist to change his craft for some pimply kid who thinks he knows how to play a song.
Sure the fans are important and an audience has influence but ultimately the artist has control over the music and exactly how much influence the audience can have.
...and call a [talented] band dickholes is real clever.

what a fuckin joke
i caouldnt believe my eyes when i saw the first post on this forum.
you sad sad person
its not exactly like it is on the radio waaaah waaah waahh
you really are pathetic.
you must play your songs like this so that they sound the same every time you play them
mmmm there is, i have noticed a common thing between change and keeping peoples interest.
genius....

//you must play your songs like this so that they sound the same every time you play them//

yes!

are you kidding me?
wheres the fun in that?
would there be any point in seeing bands live?
they'de be just as well to lip-synch to a cd dont you think?
well i guess fair enough if thats how you enjoy the songs.
every man to his/herself
but i personally enjoy listening to songs live for a reason - cos they are different
but that might be just me

When I saw them on Wednesday they were good. A bit upstaged by the previous King Brothers though.
