Actually, I just thought the whole "diss Auckland to get attention" thing was pretty comical - especially since DateMonthYear are obviously so well established that they don't need to leave their cosy home town and delicious home cooking courtesy of Mummy.
auckland media types can't be arsed seeing small auckland bands that are playing 5mins down the road at the local bar, let alone driving an hour and a half to hamilton. looking at my friends bands that are now having some form of success its generally taken them around a year of playing intensively and generating their own publicity thru whatever means available before the masses start to notice. they don't just do it to you sweetheart, they do it to everyone.
maybe you should just grow a pair and come up and play....
