Two Cars, One Night - Taika Waititi

Just saw that short film that's been nominated for the Oscar, and it's so familiar, and SOOOO CUTE! I'd completely forgotten about the phrase "what are you jacking at?" and "Sucka-luckaahh!" So, so familiar..he could've been filming my home town.

That is all. Anyone didn't see the film, remind me of some other slang from my youth.

Forums: The Bar,

we just saw it in school.
Meeeeeeeeh.

It'd be nice if it won though.

"He's a gay. Hey, you're you're a gay, ay?"
"yup."

Johnny Depp...

"Johnny Depp..."

I wonder what he would have thought of that part of the film when he watched it (as an Oscar judge)!?

Academy members don't have to have watched all the films before they vote on them. (There are exceptions - I think the documentary and foreign films require having seen every nominee).

give's-a-giz and it's partener give's-a-go

Anyone ever use the word "hamu"?

As in:
"can I have one of your raisins?"
"stop being such a hamu, e hoa!"

Hey, choice, I never knew the origin, but I just found a maori-english translator, and apparently it's maori for scavenger.

that's a much better way to spell 'e hoa'. we used to write 'e whore' - no, just doesn't look right.

//that's a much better way to spell 'e hoa'

Or the frocks on Oscars.com. So far the only people I'm loving are Helen Mirren and Zhang Ziyi - but I think it would be impossible for her to look bad.

Morgan Spurlock's in fine form...

Ok, I'm not sure about how these two words are spelt, so any corrections or suggestions would be appreciated. These were big at my primary school.

What about "neho!" (or just "ne!") as the thing a child says when their parent wants them to do something they want to do:

"Come and help me with the dishes."
"Neho!"

And there's "titu", a verb meaning "to fiddle with".

"Stop titu-ing with your baked beans and eat them!"
"Ne!"

He was a bit of a cock with the whole sleeping thing.
Wonder what his speach wouldve been
