I the cynic was watching television the other night when Rod Stewart came on and straigtaway thought "Hey wasn't he the one that got sent to hospital to get his stomach pumped of...(See below)
So I thought lets share some old rock and roll rumours from a happier, simpler time.
The Cynic's top ten
OK lets try some real rock and roll rumours from over the years.
1. Jimi Hendrix kept acid tabs in his bandana so the sweat that dripped down his face was laced with LSD.
2. Rod Stewart was taken to hospital to have a pint of semen pumped from his stomach.
3. David Bowie's wife caught him in bed with Mick Jagger
4.Jim Morrison's death was an assassination planned by extreme right wingers trying to stop the spread of the left.
5. Morrison faked his own death. An associate of the doors- arriving in paris after morrison's death- was greeted only by Pamela Morrison, a sealed coffin, and a death certificate signed by only one doctor. No autopsy was conducted, no police report was made and the aforementioned doctor was never found.
6.Gene Simmons had a cow tongue sewn onto his own tongue to extend it.
7. Jimmy Page's pact with Satan brought success but plagued Zeppelin. There was the auto accident that injured Robert Plant and family, a viral infection that killed plant's son Karac and the death of John Bonham- all the work of the diabolic one.
8. Paul Mcartney died in an auto accident in late 1966. He was secretly replaced by Billy Shears, the winner of a Mcartney look-alike contest. The beatles left a series of clues in later albums.
9. Pink Floyd engineered Dark side of the moon to coincide with scenes from the wizard of Ozz. They created Meddle as an ersatz soundtrack for 2001 a space odyssey. It also works for disney's Fantasia.
10. Kurt Cobain didn't commit suicide instead Courtney Love and two friends murdered him for financial gains then dreated a suicide scene to fool police.
Please discuss.
Thank you.

I don't care if it's not true. I will pretend it is.
same here, plus i've seen a picture that couldn't prove otherwise.
What about the Church of Satan initiation kit that is the Eagles' Hotel California album?

The Cynic likes the rumour much more than the truth.

Oddly enough the Dark Side Of The Moon & The Wizard Of Oz kinda works, you start playing the album from the MGM Lions 3rd roar . . . there's a couple of places where it fits really well (a bicycle riding scene was a good one), but when the album stops you're only half way through the movie and it's kinda like hmmmm okay what now . . . . oh yeah it helps if you're wasted hahaha : )
Anyone done the Beasties 'Sabotage' with the start of the original Star Wars?
Not bad. Particularly C3PO (or is it C3P0?) gesturing wildly while going "sup? sup? SUP?"
I've seen the Wizard of Oz with the Dark Side of the Moon soundtrack (it was part of the Incredible Film Fest a few years ago).
The first time through there are heaps of hilarious coincidences, my favourites being the start of "Money" as soon as the film goes from black and white to colour, and the "goody goody bullshit" line appearing along with the good witch.
But near the end of the film, by the time the the album was onto its third play-through, it was just like watching the Wizard of Oz with some unconnected rock playing, and it got really boring.

. . . ahh we never thought of starting the album over again (dumb stoners)

okay because in a former life I was a dumb stoner, I have copies of both Meddle and 2001 at home and I couldn't resist.
It didn't really work that well, though there were a few interest bits though 'The Dawn of Man' scenes, but . . . . . meh? It worked heaps better starting it from 'Jupiter & Beyond' but then again anything would sound good along with that. . . . . . . (maybe woulda worked better with stimulants?)
haven't got Fantasia
