Chuking in Cricket

what will they think of next?

how come it only seems that the bowlers who are being investigated for throwing only come frrom Pakistan and Sri lanka,

Shiaob - cleared because or some bullshit rule that his arm is double jointed of some crap

Murali- cleared for almost the same reason, and his arm doesnt straighten.

now shoib malik --"lost control of a tendon in his arm form a car accident"

when will the ICC realise they are being had and wake up to the fact that these people throw the ball at the batsmen and throwing isnt bowling,

we need to get billy bowden to No ball a few of them to raise the question then the ICC needs to gorw some ball and say "hey if you dont change ur bowling action you cant play"

and as for adam gilchrests "walking" if hes such a "fair player", if anyone saw Brian Lara get out caught behind when he missed the ball but a good 3 or 4 inches, will be asking "hey adam if ur such a good sport why appeal when you know he didnt hit the ball? or atleast why not tell the umpire he didnt hit it and have him called back"

Forums: The Bar,

forgive the doubling up of this post, my comp at work sux and fucked up while adding this thread

Don't forget Mills is a chucker too

yeah he really is

As far as I'm concerned, while the ICC are too gutless to stand up and be acounted for the history and respect and 'honour' of cricket, then these guys are perfectly fine doing what they do. I wonder how bond would go with a little kink in the arm? could become the worlds fastest bowler, or maybe keep his current pace but reduce the stress on his body.

He's the fastest bowler who doesnt have a chuck action - its no wonder he's so wrecked

yeah, apart from brett lee, personally i dont think he chucks, but like ive said b4, if you are going to bring in this degree allowence in the bend of arms, the entire aussie pace attack is out (which wouldnt be a bad thing haha), probly most of pakistan, a few from NZ, sri lanka , SA the list could go on really, because they are all bending passed the allowence set by the ICC, so it could have a chaos effect if they did clamp down on it, but when you got like 3 in a team like the pakistanies do you gota start questioning whos teaching them to bowl

You watch Brett Lee's effort ball in slow-mo, you never saw more of a chuck

the ICC are thinking of doing something...

According to an article I read, under the ICC guidelines that are or have been replaed almost 90% of all bowlers could have been ruled to chuck it. The spinners were more often called because without modern technology it was much harder to see the degree of flexation that bowlers such as Glen McGrath utilised on their effort balls.

It is for this reason that they have been moving to a 15 degree of flexation as that is more noticeable to the naked eye.

But perhaps as some have hinted it was just racism that brought the throwing claims to the fore in the first place.

yeah, if you are going to nit pick and start calling bowlers for chucking, mcgrath, gillespie, lee, would all be done for it, same with kylie mills maybe jacob oram, most pakis, youd have to have a pretty straight arm not to be called,

but just because a bowler bowls fast like 150kms + doesnt me hes automatically chucking it, i know alot of people dont agree with me but i dont thnk lee chucks it, his arm is bent yes, but no more than any other bowler out there, acktar i think does chuck it though,

and yeah maybe bond should start chucking itd probly save his back,

question : Will Shane Bond be as quick as he was when he comes back to International Cricket? ( if he ever does)

He was just as fast after he made his initial back injury comeback, and that was after alterations to his action that would supposedly reduce stress on his back.

I'm actually quietly confident that his comeback will be successful, it seems like the recovery is being managed really well and slowly. These types of operations have been successful in the pas, too, in rugby league at least.

And if not then we always have Kyle Mills, haha.
