Vocal coaching

Hi, i'm in Wellington city, and although i don't consider myself a weak vocalist, lets face it there is always lots of room for improvement, so does anyone know of any good vocal coaches in the city? Preferably someone with a more contempory feel as my interest in classical styles is pretty limited, thanks.

Forums: Classifieds,

Save yourself money - go to singingsuccess.com and buy the singing course for $300 or whatever it is, it's worth it. I've had four or five teachers, all of them shit, then I got this course. I've been singing professionally for almost two years (up to three gigs a week, 4 hours a night) and after only a few lessons (the course is 12 hours long) I'm already able to sing about four semitones higher than before, but now I do it without excessive effort. NZ singing teachers are a waste of money, unless you want to sing opera.

Portia, how long did it take until the singing success package was delivered? Has anyone else ordered and received it?

yeah i took a look at that programme just now and it looks really good, and if you've had good results i am more inclined to believe thaqt than the arse kiss letters on the web site,so yeah i reckon i'll give that a go, cheers.

As a side note, anyone in Wellington keen to make some music, influenced by Funeral for a friend, muse, Reuben, Alexisonfire, Glassjaw, Mars Volta and so forth, slapthepony@hotmail.com

I practice a technique called Speech level singing. You can learn about it at sethriggs.com. I had a profound change in my vocal ability. I haven't found any tutors registered to teach it NZ and you can get the book (with CD's inc) on amazon.com, it's called "singing for the stars".
I went from settling for singing like Bernard Fanning (Powderfinger) to Jeff Buckley.
This technique works. Good luck.
