Hey, I heard that the Violent Femmes are playing at orientation this year but only in the south island and wellington and palmy..? Apparently they're not comming to aucks and the tron because of people spending their money on BDO and Greenday..
Is this shit true.. I also heard that they will be playing with the checks!!

Well, I have it from the fellow who is stage managing the Violent Femmes gig that, as of last week anyway, it was still happening. There was a situation with last year's Campus Arts Administrator doing this for Orienation 2004, so it is unlikely that the same thing would happen again this year.

nope, its being funded by the local council I do believe and not part of their orientation, i was told (so i'm not sure how accurate this info is) the person in charge of the massey orientation didn't want the violent femmes, so the council stepped in to fund the gig and have it free for the public.
