This year the Awards are following the same successful formula. Presented by Dominic Bowden and Jaquie Brown from Space the awards will begin with a live concert from New Zealand’s leading artists. Eight awards will be presented at the Civic Theatre star studded event, “International Achievement”, “Top Male Vocalist”, “Top Female Vocalist”, “Songwriter”, “Top Group”, “Single of the Year”, “Album of the Year” and “Top New Act”.
Artist’s performing at The Civic Theatre are Fur Patrol, Betchadupa, Che, Zed, Salmonella Dub, Tadpole and Dave Dobbyn.
At the Sheraton Hotel event, Squeeze Host and Breakfast TV Entertainment Reviewer, Francesca Rudkin will present thirteen awards. These include “Top Producer”, “Best Music Video” and “NZ Music Radio Programmer of the Year”.
Space will be filming the star studded event at the Civic Theatre with the show screening on TV2 at 10:30pm that evening.
Tickets for the Civic Theatre Show, which is expected to sell out, are on sale through Ticketek for just $20.

why arent the bands from yesteryear being considered there are many older musicians who can run rings around the younger generation and their music knowledge far outweighs the younger artists.
some older musicians misical talents span from the 50's to now and they are not being recognised. Their older music is appealing to the younger generation as well. I think these awards should include real musical talent even if they are long in the tooth. They are still popular to day.
