I was hoping to get a bit more feedback - this is really a heads up to the NZM hardcore, to get some feedback or questions people may have, before we do an official like announcement.
So yeah any questions? Anybody? How about you there, over the back?
I guess my question is how is it different from smokecds? It's just slightly rebranded to incorporate it more within NZM yeah? I was expecting it to be a store full of tshirts with pictures of our logins, that's all.
this is more of a smoke thing but why is there no 'new releases' link?
Oh yeah and I would like to see member reccommendations or a rating system next to each album.

I did use the term IT "support" with a touch of irony. But yeah, I have no authorisation to change my computer stuff, so I will do what's best. Also I think that the greater majority of the world is still using IE, and therefore saying "oh just use firefox" probably isn't the best solution for a company that's trying to make money, so it's probably a good thing for smokecds to be aware of problems that people are having with the site.
The non secure messages are strange Joanna. Everything is tested on IE at your spec so that is strange you are having that issue. Will let you know when we launch a fix.
OK, since you asked for feedback - I do have one moan. I like the pricing of the CD's, although some seem to be sneaking up, and am glad there is so much NZ music to buy. My problem is with the cost of postage - at $4.75 a time, courier only, it will make me hesitant about buying a single CD because other sources will turn out a bit cheaper. Plus I have a problem with couriers anyway - I have a PO Box to ensure safety of stuff I buy online, and couriers don't like P O Boxes - so I either get woken up at a ridiculous time or the package gets to sit on the side of the street (and even my nice new phone book was stolen from there last week). There used to be a postal option and I'm sad to see it go.
Hey myshkin. Thanks for the feedback. We found that standard post was too unreliable to continue offering it as an option. The delivery times were all over the show and the parcels are not trackable so they could go missing more easily. Now we can rely on overnight courier (once shipped) and have it 100% trackable. And our couriers will happily deliver to PO Boxes so your CDs will be safe!
Plus with NZMusic.com store and smokeCDs.com you only pay one shipping price per package for NZ deliveries so you can order 20 cds and still only pay the one shipping and handling charge, whereas some other stores will not charge you for shipping per se but they will include the delivery cost into every item so the more you buy the more you pay.
how many cds can you get into a package before the shipping goes up? eg. will it cost extra per each cd or can you get two cds at the postage cost of one?
Depends on the product, so my recommendation is to throw a few items in a cart and proceed to checkout. Along the way it will estimate the shipping costs to the delivery address based on the items in the cart (you can have multiple addresses in your address book, one kiwi, one germany etc). Change your delivery address to get new shipping costs for that order.
And of course you can do this without having to actually checkout.
In the meantime you should reset your browser default font size to 12-14 point. I believe the fonts look quite big on browsers that have default set to 16 or higher.

Essentially the Reviews Grid on the homepage (and # pages going back in time below it) are listed by release date provided they have reviews. Under each Genre the products are displayed by release date. Sounds like both these need to be made clearer - thx Stiffy. Soon they will have "order by" options too.
