I saw them live at the Auckland town hall on the Shihad tour and I've got to say, they are easily one of the best kiwi bands out there. Julia Deans has an amazing voice that sounds even better live. For those of you in the South Island, go check out the Shihad Tour...You will be kicking yourself into next year if you don't, it's one of the best triple bills you will ever see!!!!
I reckon if they released this song, it has the potential to become one of those classic NZ anthems. It's got that whole jangly guitar atmospheric thing going that we know and love.
Julia adds such a awsome personality to the song that anything she sings will be sexy as she is, shes one of the best female singer/songwriters this countrys seen kicks Bic Runga's ass
Fur patrol certainly know how to rock with this song. Julia's voice shows such power yet in the verses it sounds sweet. I think this song should be no#1

hey addi,I found thier tracks at a place that has heaps of music...... its called a CD storeIf you like them so much hows about supporting them by buying the cd so they can make more music.
i just saw fur patrol supporting Motor Ace in oz (i'm from australia you see)...and I must say that they were AWESOME!!! i now know why a friend of mine kept saying you HAVE to see fur patrol...and the great thing was that i met them all and got to take live pics of them during the gig...
i must say it was the best time i have ever had!!!!
AND i own a copy of pet and starlifter already!!!! and i love them to bits!!!! i am now a dedicated fan :)
P.S. vote for my shihad site in the ONYAs (australian online music awards)...shihad.com is nominated as well :)
I think this song has a very Veruca Salt feel to it. Although the vocals towards the end are much better than that comparison would lead one to believe.
I think all of Fur Patrol's song have a unquie sound and feel and I love every single song each for individual reasons. They rock my world!!!

IM A BIGGER FAN NOW after seeing them play last nite. They were great, and i talked to Andrew between songs, and he kept smiling at me, argh. HE IS COOL!! and i asked Julia between songs if she was playing her favourite guitar (the big red semiacoustic Fender)and she said "yes. actually its my only guitar, the other ones are Simons" and pointed to Simon. Rock on, she is a babe and looks and sounds way better in life.

I missed Fur Patrol when they came to Dunedin...man was I peeved!! My boyfriend bought me their album for my birthday. And I kept listening to it and now my family hide it coz they're getting sick of listening to me try to out do Julia's voice(But she has the perfect voice!)
When my son was a baby, I didn't know alot of lulabies to sing to him so I used to sing Lydia to him( It was mellow and it had the word baby,close enough)before he went to sleep. He did'nt think much of it. But now he's two and he sings the whole song to me and puts me to sleep instead...yay fur patrol...do they come in a musical box?
believe me, if fur patrol sung a song about something along the lines of "If you don't go to sleep I'll put vix on your eyelids..."I'd sing that to him after him singing "My Babeeeee"for the 13th time after he goes through the whole song once again...yay fur patrol
...yay fur patrol! I went and saw them last weekend at the OUSA Orientation week. It was wicked. Although it wasn't a full concert by them ( with supporting bands Lunar Sea which rocked, Degrees K whos songs sounded the same, and Slim who definately rocked the place), It was still satisfying. Julia now sporting her new 'Shirley Manson' hair do sounded so much better then her album. With the whole audience singing along to tunes like Andrew, Holy and even a whole lot of guys who were 'moshing' to Slim raised their hands in the air to bellow out Lydia, it was certainly an experience I'll never forget. She chucked a few new ones in as well. But you gotta love 'Beautiful'. She rocked. They rocked. The crowd rocked...I rocked...yay fur patrol!

fur patrol are horrible - i remember seeing em play in the Upper hutt Civic Centre in October 1998 and they sounded fucken god-awful, people where booing at them and youd expect a moshpit, no all people where doing was standing on the floor (or sitting) listening and thinking "what tha fuck is this?" good thing the now disbanded authority saved the night and kicked in a massive mosh.
Well, I heard she Julia was doing a stint in the Vagina Monologues (Did I even spell that right?...let alone vagina??) in Wellington but that was in RIP a couple of months ago. I dont even know if they're still in NZ at the moment. R they releasing anything new? I've heard a couple of their new ones but that was about it.
