A couple of weeks ago a class mate from my course went up to Christchurch for holiday break, one night a bunch of skinhead beat him up just because of his fucking skin colour!!
He ended up in hospital, with a fractured skull, stitches above his eye & 2 black eyes!!
He is one of the nicest guys you could meet, and is only in this country to study!! He doesn't deserve this. I doubt he'll be back to class this year.

Definitely man, there is a real problem with rasicm here in New Zealand, and I live in Chch, and have noticed that unfortunately it's a bit of a center for that sort of bullshit.
It fucking suck though, because christchurch is actually a pretty cool place, and the majority of people arent like that - it's just that the ones who are seem to be far more vocal and aggressive about it.

Sam 106 you've got a point. A friend of mine is often confused with skinheads simply cause his hair started to fall out at 18 so, to go with it rather than fight it, he shaves his head. Everyone who knows the guy would agree he isn't what you would call a skinhead but to strangers he could be interpereted as a skinhead. So one night a few years ago at a party he gets several varieties of shit kicked out of him by a group of young guys who make that presumption.

I used to work with this maori guy who was confronted by some skinheads. They just went up to him and called him a "money hungry maori f......" and then began a scuffle. luckily for my colleuge and friend, he fought them off and suffered just a few minor cuts and bruising otherwise he was relatively unhurt. I Think those skins must have chickened out after the scuffle.
