its great to see that up and coming kiwi bands are getting support! i agree that it would be nice to find out a lil more about the boys other than liam (yes hes scrummy for a 17 year old but he tends to get more of a following because of his famous family then the others, time to share the spotlight maybe?) maybe try their website (address is in the 3DEP) and get on the mailing list. cant wait for their full length album too, anyone know when its due?!?
I saw these guys play live and thought they were pretty damn good for a bunch of young guys. Keep an eye out for them 'cos they have a crap load of talent!!I just hope people dont bag them 'cos of one of thier parents >;-]
Oliviajewel - give the dudes a break - they're 16 and still growing, musically and otherwise. probably doesn't help that the NZM edit was a little budget - but they are a pretty good act live.

I saw these guys at the Kings Arms a while ago with Rubicon and despite a small crowd, I thought they were excellent with a very down to earth, laid back attitude, which is quite refreshing in comparison to the majority of Auckland bands I've seen live.
I'll be at the Masonic when they play with Goodshirt and Rubicon, this Friday with bells on!!!

Hi, I've just found out about Betchadupa & I think they rock! They should release some stuff here in the UK! 'Empty Head' is a class track. Neil Finn played a bit of it at his Portsmouth gig! I'm jealous of everyone whos seen Betchadupa live! :o)

The third to last song they played in their set at the Starlight Ballroom last night in Wellington sounded a hell of a lot like Death Cab for Cutie esp the vocals, very cool.
Well, i saw them play last nite after GoodShirt, they were quite good, real rock i like rock and i asked Liam after one of teh songs if he was tired 'after all that fast guitaring" and i cant remember what he said now, i think he was tired. ANd then later offstage i asked if he had any spare picks cos i was wearing my fingers off playing the guitar, adn he gave me one. THANKS LIAM! and he and Joe and Chris signed my book.

yea sleepy news is good!! well just thought id tell you all incase u dont know liam is also an awsome photographer they used to live in new york and he had this chick that was like his and his brothers baby sitter she was a photographer to and she took them to all theses art galleries etc and i saw one of his pictures of his dad neil fin it was awsome so people you might have to look out for a photgopher as well as an awsome singer!!!

Betchadupa ROOOOCCCCCKKKK!!!! They are the best upcoming NZ band right now, and I hope they make it huge.
My only concern is the bassist (being a fellow bassist) - he plays in the "nu-metal" style - bass around the KNEES playign with a pick. He won't get much better that way....but still he puts on a show, so good luck to them!
