where is the Best Metal Album? and if any metal wa sincluded in the list why do they list it under the "rock" category when rock and metal are totally different genres?
Im also extremely disappointed in Brooke Fraser winning an award, now do not get me wrong, I Admire her for her ability to play a musical instrument and her modest style of dress but it quotes in the dominion post this morning "...now sydney based". Analysis begs the question - should we award an artist/s who abandon there country for some other to claim as there own? Now ive got no problems with artists going overseas for a month or 2 to record an album or even go on tour (wider range of audience potential) but just backstabbing there own country for another is most definatley letting down their fans and there country - young brooke has joined the long list of other "musical traitors" in this country - Dragon, Pacifier, Fur Patrol.....etc etc. to finish off, I Reckon NZ Music awards should only award NZ Artists based in NZ, not those who have abandoned there country to claim as there own (esp those bush loving minions of the USA 2000km west of here)
oh and BTW - a big respec' to Scribe and other NZ Based artists for winning awards - you guys are and should all be a model for all NZ Bands that it is essential to remain based in your country, big thumbs up.

i think brooke fraser deserved the awards she won, but my god, her off stage manner makes my skin crawl. whether she's trying to be as "crazy" as all the other musicians who are actually able to go drop by the cubical for a few lines between awards, or the people who have been pouring mountains of cash into carefully crafting her stage/video image have completely forgotten to give her some lessons in what to do when you bump into a film crew backstage. The girl flipped out. Must've been high on Jesus.
